can someone explain in detail this topic? ive heard of it briefly and havnt started a cycle yet, at age 20. Would definetly like to find out more about this.. ;)

don't know if there are any actual scientific studies, but the term is loosely used to describe how when after you've worked up to a certain level of muscle mass and/or training level, then lose some or most after a layoff, it is much easier/quicker to gain back the mass and/or training level than it was to build it the first time.

the only "study" i can think of is the casey viator "colorado experiment" conducted by the guy who invented nautilus equipment. Viator regained ~~ 50 lbs in a month.

he spun it as an endorsement of how great his equipment was, but it was really a demonstration of muscle memory and juice.

When I was in my teens, I was into martial arts (mostly dreaming about being Bruce Lee, but I did train) and I was able to do the splits. 15 years later I could barely do 45 degrees..but after the soreness of weight training required stretching, I loosened up alot easier than I did the first time.

No scientific background here...just my own experience.

......contemplate what I've been clinging to. 46&2 just ahead of me.

Does anyone know how long muscle "memory" lasts? I've been lazy for about a year and a half, if i were to start working at it again tomorrow should i expect pretty quick results?
