Multivitamins & absoption.

I know not all multivitamins are not created equal so I was wondering if someone had a link on absorption rates. I've done a search here and on the net but information is rather scarce. I also live in a small town so selection can be rather limited.

Thanks

i had the same problem, so i asked my doc and he advised any multi that is in gel form will absorb rapidly.hard or pressed powder is hard and almost impossible to absorb into the body the amount of time in your system.

You want to try to get as much of your vitamins as you can from food/drinks, and then take the multivitamins on top of that. I take them in pill form but I take more than the RDA.

all mutli have not been created equal:

for instance
Mg aspartate is much better than Mg oxide (as far as bio-availibility)
Zn gluconate >> Zn oxide
D tocopherol >> DL tocopherol

and so on

you shoud carefuly read the label and stick to good companies

TwinLab is a good reputable brand, with high manufacturing standards. However, anything one-a-day might not be the best. The water soluable vitamins (b's and c) will get in your system and be pissed back out within just a few hours. IMO, you should try to find something that at least divides the dosage into two or three pills. That way you can take them with meals throughout the day.

Would you guys consider Twinlab's Daily One W/O Iron(Caps) a good choice of multivitamins?
Thank you.

Twinlab's daily 2 w/o iron is a good choice
