Multi-Grain Milled Flaxseed & Soy

Hi all! I have been off for about a year, but just renewed my platinum membership. My diet has been crap for the past year to year and a half, and its time to do something about it -- its WAY overdue.

I searched the forum, but didn't find a lot of previous post on this hot cereal. Has anyone used it in place of oatmeal in morning meal #1? What do you think about it? Would you use it on a cutting diet. I am basically following Daisy Girl's plan.

I discovered it because my roommate (who is a personal trainer) brought it home. One serving has 160 calories, 3g fat, 25 carbs, 6 fiber, 1 suger, and 7g protein. Ingredients are Oats, Unprocessed wheat bran, milled flaxseed, soy grits, untoasted wheat germ, and cracked whole wheat. One serving has 450 mg of omega-3 oil.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for answering Bunny!

Surely someone on the forum has some knowledge and experience of it.

I can't say enough how much I LOVE this stuff. It's made by Hodgson Mill.

I've never used it - I've cut oatmeal out of my diet the last few months so no wet carbs in my system in recent history.

I tried a flaxs based hot cereal and it tasted like SHIT! Stick with rolled oats as it taste pretty good with a little cinnamon and is far less processed. I had used Daisy's basic diet last spring I changed somethings in it to fit me as I went a long but baiscally followed it and worked very well dropped around 6% bodyfat. What you need to do is try it for 2-3 weeks see how your body is changing and adjust it accordingly.

That's exactly what I plan to do. I am sure I will have to tweak it depending on how fast I drop weight and how I feel. I am really active besides working out, and I normally eat an average of 2500 calories a day. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode. I don't know if 1300-1500 calories a day is too drastic of a cut. I don't feel hungry at all with the six meals. I am cutting out the lunch carb on non-training days if I am not doing a lot of outside yard work. But weedeating, raking, and mulching for 2-6 hours a day uses some serious energy. That's on top of my regular workout schedule.
