Multi-function computer printers anyone?

Does anyone have good recommendations for multi-function printers, or currently are really satisfied with their current one?

I am looking at HP brand printers with copier, scanner and printing capabilities.

whats a decent resolution for scanning? I'm not too worried about how many ppm it can print, just as long as it can produce some quality scans and quality printing.

Ultimately are these rigs worth the money?

I just bought an HP psc 1315 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier - It was ~$80

Works well so far. All I've used it for is to print papers and also used the copier for someone's notes. Haven't scanned anything yet. Seems quality, though.

HP, Lexmark, Cannon make good all in ones.

If you want near/true Photo quality scanning and prints, you must
spend $200 + for the unit... All 3 make good units for around $299

Otherwise the quality of the prints and scans will be just OK..

Are you looking for fax capabilities as well? Colour is definite of course.
What's your budget?

I'd stay away from Lexmark as they tend to be cheaper quality. HP, Epson, and Canon would be my top choices.

A pretty good scan resolution is around 2400 x 4800 dpi (unenhanced with software).

brother makes the best ones hands down...you also need to consider the cost of toner on machines.....xerox..canon and such are retarded exspensive.....

LASER MACHINES use TONER....ink jets are stone age.........5-10k copies as apposed to 500....no comparison...

Damn am I the only one on here that didn't see "LASER" in UA_Iron's post?
From what I understand inkjet is still better than most affordable color lasers for photos.
Show me a link where Brother blows the other's cost away on toners.
I'm glad you love your Brother!
