I need a portable one for the gym. Lookin' for at least 80mb. I know they usually come lower with an expandable memory but I don't want to spend over $200. Gimme some ideas pahleeze!

If you have a cd burner, get one of the cd/mp3 players that will read mp3's off of a cd that you burned. You can burn over 10 hours of mp3's onto a cd. Versus, 2-3 hours which is the most you would be able to fit on a memory card.

Just buy a case that buckles around your waist that holds that player. I use mine when doing cardio and lifting and I really like mine.

You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions. I have been through 2 traditional mp3 players that didn't make that cut, before I found the cd/mp3 player.

Obelix-220 - The only problem that I see with the Rush one is that it has a built in memory card. So you don't hav the chance to buy a bigger one so you can store more MP3's. The Rush one will only hold about 60minutes of mp3's. It says it will hold 90 minutes at 96kbps. But that is poor sound quality. If you are looking for something smaller than a cd player. Look at the sony. They use the memory stick technology and you could buy bigger ones of those or carry around more than one if you wanted to. Just my opinion. Tyler

I have the Rio Nike thingy. It has 64mb and holds more than enough music to get me through a workout/cardio.

I had bought a piece of shite Rio300 from Ubid.com, but the damn thing didn't work. I sent it back and spent the extra buck. Now I am glad I did.

who can do cardio for over 60min bro !?
im a fat lazy guy ! so 60 min of music can be more than enough coz u know not all songs can fit for cardio and they all should be in kinda similar speed/tempo ,

LOL@ Obelix,

I can't do cardio for more than 45min. The only reason I like the cd/mp3 is because you can store all your mp3's on 1-2 cds and then you won't have the problem of them taking up more than a gig a space on your computer. The CD/MP3 players are cheaper than most of the smaller MP3 players. So Size in the only disadvantage. But most people like a small player when they are working out, so I guess a smaller one would be worth the money.

I was just at Best Buy and saw the Rio 64mb mp3 player. It looks like a pretty good buy. It was around $150-180. I can't remember the exact price. If you live near a Good Guys, Best Buy or Fry's you should check that one out. It looks really light. You could probobly fit in in your pocket. Hope you find one. Peace, Iron Thrower

You can get 64mb(close) for that. Check www.mysimon.com (you can price stuff there)
You may want to look at Archos Technologies jukebox 6000. Its about $275-$300 and it has a 6 GIGABYTE memory and its not one of those things that are the size of a CD walman either. Its relatively compact given the size of it's memory.
Also IOMEGA (makers of zip and Jaz drives) has the "Hip Zip" which has removeable memory disks (small) that are 40mb each it comes with a few disks also. Additional disks are about $10/each. Hip Zip is about $230.00
