some of them have what's called "flash memory". Does it mean that once the battery is dead, I have to upload the music all over again? Can't I just change the battery and keep enjoying the beats?

Yes. the music is not deleted when the batteries die.

I JUST POSTED ON YOUR OTHER THREAD ABOUT THIS....GAVE MY OPINION ON THIS ISSUE. I'D GO WITH THE MP3 PLAYER PERSONALLY. I LIKE THE ONE I GOT. YOU CANT BEAT THE 56 HOUR PLAYTIME FOR THE SONY MINIDISC THOUGH. DAMN, THATS LONG. OH WELL, 13 HOURS IS FINE WITH ME FOR ONE AAA BATTERY!!!
