today is the 1 year anninversary of my move to phoenix..i used to live in virginia where i had lived for about 12 years..times were good in virginia but i was just bored with the same ol shit so i decided to try something..i decided to pack up everything and move out west and start life over..i chose phoenix because it was warm and it had tons of opportunity..it has been a crazy last year..a week after i moved here sept 11th happened..i ran out of money about a month after i moved here but started a job shortly there after..the first few months was rough mainly due to the fact that i didnt know anyone and missed my family and friends at home..the last 8 months or so have been pretty good..ive met at least a dozen people some of which were just short-lived aquaintences and a few of them that i talk to on a regular basis..ive found a new sense of independence that i didnt have when i relied on my parents back in virginia..ive also started to go back to school to finish my bachelors degree..one thing that ive came to realize is that its hard to find a good friend these days..i mean its easy to meet someone at work or school, go out and get all trashed but a true friend is hard to find..well i decided to write this since many on elite are considering packing up or have already done so..if ur considering i say do it cuz it will be an experience if nothing else

yeah definately alot happier..i wasnt unhappy in virginia but i didnt feel like i should be there anymore..all of my great high school friends were either moving, getting married, or just getting old too fast..I kinda felt that everyone i knew and myself were growing apart..i have learned alot about myself in the last year and have experienced many things that i wouldnt have if i had stayed in virginia..and life is getting better everyday :)

I'm not saying that it is, but maybe the problem is you when it comes to finding a true friend. Good luck. I always wanted to do what you did but the timing was never right.

yeah maybe it's me..maybe i havent met the right people??maybe true friendship takes time to develop??who knows??

If you've read any of my posts recently you'll see I bitch about that too. I dont know anyone and I have been here for a year. It is hard to make real friends. They just sort of come along. I have 3 really close friends and the rest are just people I know. That is all you need really. I would rather have 1 true friend than 500 fake ass poser friends. Moving to a new place can be tough like that. 2 of those close friends live 3000 miles away so it kinda sucks but what ya gonna do? I've moved close to 25 times in my life so its no big deal. How is Phoenix? I thought about living there.
