Moving into a new office soon.

Sweet, I just found out I am getting a new office. I currently have office space in my investor's building. My office right now is ~500 square feet and boring as hell. But since I will be dealing with some large pieces of equipment soon, I need ground floor access, so he is moving me into a new place. My new office is a fully functioning recording studio. Its about 2,000 square feet, has a loft built above it with bathroom, bedroom and living area, and still has all the recording gear in it. So when I get bored working on robotics, I can go record a few licks. I think my old lady is getting me a digital camera for x-mas, so I will have to post some pics if I get one. He built the studio when he was younger and ran it for a few years before he got handed his dad's electrician's business. So it has been sitting there, an untapped resource, for quite some time. I may have to start recording on the weekends and shit now. Sweet.

Hell yeah, I will just hang out in the loft all day and paint the walls. Heh heh heh. The loft is kind of like a treehouse for grown-ups. There is even a trap door in the bathroom that leads down into the studio. You press a button and a section of the floor drops and exposes a spiral staircase. I don't know why he put that in there, but it's cool as hell.

Shit, the only stuff I have ever really recorded is my own band. We play(ed) rock. I run a biotech business, so it's pretty odd that my office is now an old recording studio. I used to do some recording in my spare time for friends and stuff, but nothing serious. But now that I have 24 hour access to a full studio, I may have to pick up that hobby again.

Yeah, but my office is also my workshop. So I have a lot of big robotic liquid handlers and DNA synthesizers laying about. Not to mention the piles of pipettors, centrifuges and readers and shit. I bascally have a fully functional lab in my office, so the room gets taken up pretty quickly.
