Moving Across Country: Need Advice Please.

Let's say one simply wants to relocate. They are bored, and want a change, and are SICK of the town in which they reside. They want to move to Los Angeles, or San Diego, which is a cross-country move. If you don't have a job yet, but have some money to get by until you do--where do you stay? In a Motel, until you get yourself employed, and can find a place? Or do you take care of that before you leave to move there? I mean, will people from across the country agree to rent to you before you get out there? If they would, you'd at least have that taken care of, until you get a job. Anyone ever done this, or have any advice about how to do it? Thanks!

there are numerous apartment search websites out there that you can at least get an idea from. Lots of short term leases and rentals as well. Most hotels/motels that rent by the week are pretty sketchy.

It would be best to have a job by the time you get out here. However, if you have enough money for about 4-6 months of living, then that will guarantee that you don't have to struggle. I would set aside at least 1500 dollars per month, on top of whatever car payments/debt you currently have, to be comfortable.

San Diego kicks ass, btw.

Thanks bro. What are some nice area, where I should look for Apts.? I know the area a little bit, but not well enough. What should I expect to pay for a decent sized 1 bedroom on say Chula Vista?

Let's see Chula Vista :D? Coupled with your knowledge of the "Southern" scene :p...makes me wonder :D

Better off in a place like Carlsbad or Del Mar though imo ;)

It's not what you think bro. I don't have the balls for that type of thing. I would just like to jet out of this place.
