morning cardio question

I do all my cardio in the morning, but I am reading you burn more fat in a fasted state.....anyway,

before I do anything in the morning, i have about 3 cups of coffee black sweetened w/ splenda.

I did not know if the splenda would have any effect or not, i do not use it in moderation. i just dump it in.

sorry if this is a stupid question.
 
No questions are stupid. Me personally, I'd have to break during cardio every 10 min for a potty run after 3 cups of coffee...

Can't see any problem w/ that. The splenda probably provides a little bit of "sugar" but this should be negligible since it will be burned up during cardio. If I'm starving before getting going on the am cardio, I cook up 3 egg whites really quickly. This isn't introducing any more carbs that would be burned in place of the stuff I'm trying to burn by doing any empty stomach session.

I do that too ;) Except less egg whites :(
 
Well, its supposed to be 19 g protein -- i guess that's 2.5 egg whites. Its more work to save 1/2 an egg white than just throw it all in there. Maybe I'll cut that down to 2.
 
i add a little splash of soy milk in my precardio coffee - a tiny bit is just a few cals and has fat/carbs/protein...so not such a bad choice when u need something light before a workout
