More racial questions

1. Why is it okay for black comedians to make fun of white people in their routines...but not vice-versa? Witness def comedy jam.

2. Why is it that white people think its so funny that these reverse racial jokes are funny?

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawernece cannot open their mouths for more than five minutes without slamming on white people even in a suddle way.

1. Because it's funny

2.The jokes aren't intended to be hateful, IMO, they're funny...

Eddie Murphy and Martin make fun of white people dancing because tht, in and of itself, is funny... And BTW, it IS ok for white comedians to make fun of black guys.... Enter Andrew Dice Clay... It's jokes man, just jokes.... I've met a couple of black comedians, and they're decent guys... Dave Chappelle, for instance, is one of the funniest mother fuckers around, IMO, and he's not a racist at all. Don't take it so personal bro.... In the words of Jamie Foxx: "You gotta blow that shit out....." lol

1. It is okay for the have-nots to make fun of the haves. It is a world tradition.

2. It is funny b/c psycholigically all people want the underdog to get one over on the rich and powerful.

one more thing.... if some white people didn't make it so easy for black guys to make fun of them, maybe it wouldn't be done as much.... but if you would really pay attention, black comedians make fun of black people just as much as they do white people....

This is acceptable to the majority, sure. But what about the minority who don't like it? Don't they have a voice, too?

Assuming all whites are "rich and powerful," this is funny. What's even funnier is Eddie Murphy making fun of your stereotypical "rich and powerful" white guy.

When I am watching def comedy jam and Martin Lawence says to the crowd, I quote, "you know why there are not any white people here, because they are too fucking stupid to understand our jokes".

That isn't funny. sorry bros-but I don't get it.

Look at his career. A decidedly small segment of society has deemed him funny. There are much better comedians out there, of all races.

On point!

Ever heard that Dixie Chicks song 'Earl' ? Its about a wife killing her husband (who beats her) and they are all happy dancing around. Now, I'm NOT DEFENDING WIFE BEATERS... but if a guy were to sing the reverse of this song... he'd be black balled, banned, tarred and featherd faster than a Peacock would kick Happys ass.

Oh-I agree. I used to think it was funny when Garret Morris on the old SNL would say, " Hey, I killed three white people on the way to the show tonight, oh, I guess you had to be there."

I do see your point. But I also know that black people make fun of white people when we are not around. I have heard it, and I know that Chris Rock and the rest feed into this negativity.

I never heard that bit, but I don't think that one is funny... But if he did in fact say that, it must be OLD, because DCJ hasn't been on air in a long time....

Also, if you hate it so much, why not change the channel???

I've seen a LOT of his standup, and I've never heard anything that insulting, not ever... Maybe you took it out of context, or aren't quoting it directly....

Exactly, my point. Women can menbash all day long and be sexist, but its taboo for men to be that way.

I think its the same with blacks. They feel since they were slaves they have the right to make fun of blacks.

I say fuck feminism, and fuck reverse racism.

Chris Rock was one of the ones I was thinking of. He trashes blacks fairly frequently as well. His "niggers vs. blacks" bit was hilarious.

I started this thread because I noticed that there is an hypocrisy. I used to think it was funny watching Eddie Murphy making fun of white people. But now I don't think its funny, because I know it only supports the hatred that black people feel for us.

I am not racist. And I never will be.

And if you choose to think its funny-it is definetly your right. I just think its better to voice an opinion in this way than exspress it through hatred and malicious comments that I see on this board.

You all have too much time on y'alls hands. I think some of y'all should have been born women cause y'all can BITCH like no other! :)

MOST THE TIME THEY ARE MAKINH FUN OF BLACK PEOPLE, ALMOST THEIR WHOLE ACT IS ON BLACKS AND MAKINH FUN OF THEIR OWN RACE.

I think it's a bunch of bullcrap. Seriously, how many black comedians have you heard tell those jokes? About 90,000,000. A little hackneyed now ...
