HI there!
I am going to buy protein shake.
I did try a soy protein shake and ..oh boy..
What is the difference between 1)Meal replacement shake 2) protein shake?????
I am going to try whey protein this time. I hope to have a better experience in terms of taste.
Any suggestion on which brand to buy...?
ohh ohhh almost forgot....
I have seen the "myoplex"...is this any good???
HEy !!! any input will be great..
ciao

Meal replacments contains carbs as well as protein.

Protein powders are almsot pure protein.

As for brand, most brands are good. Althouh "some" brands has been tested and found that they didnt contain wha the labels said. But you wont find that brand in the store.

Myoplex has too much SUGAR! (at least the bars, not sure of the shakes). I try to avoid all sugar all the time.

I have 'Optimum Whey" in chocolate- pretty good.

I am looking for a low carb protein shake.
So far Myoplex is #1 in my list.
here are the stats. Myoplex powder(low carb)
cal- 290
fat- 6g
carb- 9g
prot- 50g
sug- 2g

people let me know what u think.....
I need a way of getting my protein intake a little high.
Eating meat and eggs and cottage cheese is a lot of food to get in..
at least I can have a shake for dinner...hassle free
:fro:

I think Myoplex is a great way to start on mrp. I like them when I'm not hungry (because it's hot) but need to eat. Sometimes it's a treat to have a refreshing smoothie. ;) They have sugars but it's a way to condition those taste buds for the pure soy or whey that will soon follow.
Just think in a matter of time you'll be doing protein shooters!

How many cals are in the Optimum Whey?

22g protein
3 g carbs
1.5g fat

sodium isnt that bad compared to others its like 70mg, i drink way too many shakes i finish a 5lb jug every 7 days...i would like to use isopure for the final few weeks of my diet since its "zero" carbs but it has 300mg of sodium, thats insane.

Optimum has the "Pro Complex"
cal 260
fat 2g
carb 4g
prot 55g
But taking in consideration what Ny Muscle said about the sodium..Pro complex has a wipping 290mg.
ummm:confused:
This is a hard job...
Damm even shopping for a protein powder takes this much work..goshhh:bawling:
Still not sure on which I am getting..

I love Optimum, it mixes so easily in such a little amount of water. I bought ISS this time around and man does it suck. It's like chunky sludge and takes 10 times the time to mix. Blech.
