Moms & Dad's: Contemporary Parenting & Stress

EF parents,

On the heels of the recent violent events in both grade schools, highschool, and now at the universities. Not being a parent, I wonder how you you handle the day-to-day stress of being a parent and whether or not you see a bright future, or one which will continually worsen with regards to safety and wealth?

This stuff is making me very anxious.

agreed. . .you can drive yourself nuts with that stuff. . .my twins are in elementary school and their principal is very good friend of mine. . .he's a quality individual that would step in front of a gun for my kids (and any of his other students) without question. . .he runs a great school and i tell him all the time that i never worry about my kids during the day cause i know that he's on the job. . .

Handling day-to-day stress: I am usually in a relaxed mood around my kids because I see them after work and it is good to be home, away from the office, etc. I am playful with them to an extent but I have the role of the enforcer within my family so I have no problem being the mean guy sometimes and taking some pressure off of Mrs Longhorn.

The future: I think the future is bright for those who have their heads screwed on straight. If you make something of yourself and acquire some skills you can be very successful. There are so many knuckleheads out there that most employers are eager to hire and promote someone who is presentable, sits up straight, speaks properly and shows some respect for himself and others.
