Mods: What is the criteria needed for a disappearing thread?

Just wondered. Sometimes the threads just vanish and they seem fine.
Anyways, I would like to know so none of my future threads(or those of others) end up in the Houdini Realm of Elite Fitness.

Cool, you can delete any thread which you start by editing and deleting the first post. You can also move threads between fora. It seems that the rest of the functions require you to be a mod.
