Mods, Experts Kidney Problems - Need Advice!

I did a cycle of Winny and EQ last summer and ran it for 4 months (50 md of Winny and EQ EOD). I have 4 questions at the bottom of this post. Anyone who can provide insight or a good answer please reply to this post. I really need some advice/insight to the problem I am having. I will post waht the doctor says after I see him tomorrow at 2:00 PM. I am just a little scared at the moment.

I started Fina six weeks ago (plan on running it 8 weeks total) at 18 tabs a day orally (I know, that is not the correct way to take fina, it is too expensive, etc.. no flames please I need help/advice on the kidney issue). I went to the doc last Friday to get some medication for some mild acne that sprung up and I told him about last summer's cycle. Like a dumb ass, I DID NOT tell him about the current Fina cycle I am on. The doc had three vials of blood taken (wants to test for T-levels, progesterone, liver, etc...). I also gave a urine sample too. The doc did some kind of 'cursory' screening of the urine right there in the office and said that he thought I had a little too much protein in the urine and that he wanted to test it further. I would have expected to see ketones, but NOT protein in the urine! I know Fina can be hard on the kidneys. My blood pressure is 115/74. I am 5'9", 175lbs at about 8% bodyfat. I do cardio 3 - 5 times a week for 30 minutes. My daily caloric intake the past three months has been about 1700 - 2200 per day. I don't drink or smoke and my diet is very clean. I do take a lot of vitamins, minerals, creatine and I drink about 6 - 8 cans of Diet Coke a day. The Fina cycle is leaning me out and I am getting stronger than ever so I know it is working orally.

1.) Should I be concerned at the moment about the excess protein in the urine?

2.) Should the protein 'disappear' after a few weeks when I discontinue the oral application of the Fina?

3.) Are my kidney's just impaired right now or damaged permanantly? Will they return to normal when the Fina (or any steriod for that matter) is discontinued?

4.) Has anyone heard of or had a similar problem as mine regardless of the steriod they were taking?

It probably means nothing but if you are concerned than drop the fina. It is probably the worst drug for your kidneys. You may want to start drinking at least 1 gallon of water a day and take some cran pills first. This may solve the problem by itsself.

1. The appearance of large molecules like hemoglobin and other proteins in your urine can be signs of strain on your kidneys or the early stages of kidney disease. In a normally functioning liver large molecular weight protein shouldn't be able to easily difuse into urine. Proteinuria ( excessive protein in urine ) can also be caused by high blood pressure and strenous exercise...... often elite marathon runners have hemoglobin and albumin in their urine.

2. From what it sounds like were you just taking fina pellets orally ?! If so bad idea the methylcellulose binders in the pellets will cause severe kidney strain.

But it's hard to say whether or not you have kidney strain due to the fina or if you have a developing kidney disease which was aggrivated by the fina. I would say not to worry about it until you see the doctor and get some lab tests done. Because until then you won't know anything for sure.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys. No kidney disease or any other ailments in the family and I have ALWAYS been healthy (I know this doesn't mean everything in the big picture). It MUST be the oral doses of Fina I WAS taking (stopping it now though).

Anyone else care to add to this post? I need as much input as possible.

I think you need to be straight up with the doc when you see him, and tell him about the Fina. Doctors deal with athletes all of the time and know that drugs are part of the game. Don't let your embarrassment get in the way of your health. You need those kidneys for a lot more decades.
The doctor MUST know what is in your system to determine if the present drugs are causing the problem (probably temporary) or if it is not related to the Fina. TELL HIM, MAN! Otherwise, the tests are bunk.
