mod's- are they scammers?

M.Tex

New member
I heard on another board that elite had some scammers for mod's. Every mod that i have pm'd or e-mailed has not replyed. So who can i trust that will actually respond to ligit quistions?

I didnt ask for a source & i wouldn't buy from anyone on this board, but if i have a ligit quistion or want to verify my source it would be nice to know someone that would respond w/ an intelligent answer

If your source is GNC.. I can vouch for them... they have some good protein and other supplements... but to get the good stuff use the ultra-secret pass-code word "ROIDS" and they'll hit a special button, a door will open and you'll be escorted into a casino, with showgirls and walls and walls of steroids and other illegal products...

Ahh... the secrets of GNC... Oooopps... I hope this wasn't a source post!

You are kidding......right???!!! We may verify a source but we sure as hell will not supply one. This is all about entertainment...Like Pro wrestling! You did not think this was real did you?

The MOD's I have delt with have been good.:D

Things are out of hand, no one should be handing out names of sources or asking for them from strangers.:( :( :(

First off look at your e-mail address its from yahoo. Now go back up to the top of the board and read the sticky. Next before sending a mod a source question, check their profile, many wont do source checks and many wont answer unencrypted mail. Lastly what does not answering you mail have to do with scamming? With an attitude like your and making posts like this I wouldnt expect too much help from anyone to be honest.

most of the mods around here are good guys:

I know Zyg is always busting his ass to make sure things stay sane and legit around here, he is always making sure that things dont get out of hand and he is ALWAYS more ten willing to help relevent questions,...if u read the rules and still dont understand, get a secure email and email a mod with a question that doesnt come within the boundries of the rules.

Also, our mods have lives, they are not paid to hang out on elite all day (although that would be a cool job...hehe) so if they dont respond to your question within 40 seconds dont worry, they are just out living their lives and doin their own thing, most will reply within 48hrs......

....and most importantly, dont ask for sources with suh few posts, earn a reputation on the board, become trusted, maybe something good will happen.....

Zyg,Manny, and all the others, thanks for being such good bros and your patience

Well said. In my case, Zyg and Huck have always been helpful. They have always took the time to answer my questions. I am sure the other MODs do the same.

I have always had great responses from the mods that I have contacted. Maybe I have been lucky. I think Zygs advice might be good for you to follow.

Top 5 reasons why I will not respond:

1. No clue who you are.

2. You mail me from some chicken crap server like AOL.

3. You have 1 or 2 posts on our board.

4. You act like I owe your something.

5. You mass mail every mod with the same source question.

"ask a mod"

Hi,

you always see the line "ask a mod" when somebody poses a question about an internet or mail source.

I know I did the "ask a mod" thing after a web site with positive feedback on another board disappeared shortly after I placed a test order.

I didn't get any response either.

Listen,

The moderators here are NOT sources, they may however have heard of sources, If they dont respond, maybe it is because they do not know the answers...sometimes they have things to do, other times they just dont feel like it, There are over 40,000 people on this board, do u think they only get 3 emails a day?...seriously though, why do u feel like they owe u anything at all?...they dont know you...sometimes i feel like people around here get alittle too friendly, Our "role playing" as bodybuilders often goes beyond fantasy, we must distinguish between fantasy and reality...i like alot of u bros, but i dont trust u with my life,.....if a mod emails u or someone gives u info, it is because they simply are trying to help u, think of it that way.....if they cant get the job done, there are alot of vets around here that would be more then willing to help a bro out

And why are you confused???? Did you read the replies to this post? You also are using a yahoo mail address and likely didnt follow the guidlines. Keep in mind we mods are not here to answer questions on sources, many mods dont even use AAS, if a mod choses to answer source questions consider yourself lucky.

It takes a minute to set up an ELitefitness E-mail account. No reason to keep using AOL/hotmail/yahoo/whooo shit....

Yes all of the mods i have talked to have been very helpful with their advice, but its just like anything else to do with relations in this world... you get the respect that you give.

Also, this thread has no purpose here and helps nothing and in my opinion does not help the boards image much. a mod should delete it.

The Moderators are here to make sure this board stays up and running, to make sure no-one sends there hardearned cash to a scammer and to offer diet/trainging advice. They do this out of a love for the sport and the willingness to help. They do not offer sources as this is against the law anyway.

Stick around first, listen and learn, then ask questions later. With your post count no one is going to think you are credible anyway. As for Mods Huck and Zyg have always been good guys.

^ Yep. What this guy said is right on. ^

Beyond that, to the a-hole that started this thread anything you need an answer for could be identified by using the search feature.

This thread was not a good example of how to introduce yourself to the forum, very disrespecful to current mods - but there are situations commonly found on the internet which raise valid concerns of this type.

I have always found the mods here to be extremely generous, objective and helpful with their time and advice.

Do keep in mind, there are people here at EF who have varying economic interests. This does not in any way mean they are scammers - they are helpful in that they totally believe in their theories and products. They are often very knowledgable, helpful, and contribute in many ways.

It is a pattern on the internet forums for certain parties to establish themselves as experts, offering valid expert advice for little or nothing in return. In some cases, some of these gurus have been known to sell products. Probably in most cases these are honest businessmen who believe in what they are doing and offer their customers a valued service. In still other unfortunate situations, they sell snake oil, and can get away with it based on reputation. I am not just talking about bodybuilding or fitness or anabolic forums here - I am talking about a wide variety of subjects.

Now certainly with the amount of snake oil found in the supplement industry and all the implications associated with various black and grey market products caution is warranted.

In my experience, the mods here will help you avoid the snake oil. But only through time and participation do you learn who you can trust and respect, and will you yourself be trusted.

Out of "The Gap"?!? :FRlol:

I can picture it now.
Some 120lb rail behind the counter: "Hey bro, want some steroids?".
Me: "Not if that's what you're using."
