That's fucked up! I'm not a huge fan of cats and to each his own I guess, but to post a pic of the dead cat is just messed up.
 
Good thing I took a screen shot before the thread was axed. I fergit, is Tiger88 in Tempe, Tuscon, or Phoenix? I'm sure an e-mail to the police department with a picture attachment would raise some interest.

I suppose there's a possibility that the thread was bullshit, because rat poison works on the theory that rats are incapable of vomiting. If a dog or cat ingests rat poison, supposedly they just puke it up.

incorrect. rat poison works because it thins the blood and causes the lungs to fill with blood. the animal suffocates on its own blood. i've had more then a couple pet dogs eat it when i lived at home with my parents. vitamin k (not a joke) is the only thing that saves them

I would have too. Man, I hate snakes. They are the devil. Tiger's okay but he goes off the deep end once in a while. I can't understand half his posts. I didn't take him seriously but then I made a point not to read the thread either. If he did do it then that ain't cool. I wouldn't even poison a pit bull (but I'd throw one out the window in a heartbeat if it came at me).

I said the same thing when Dunk posted a video of a dog being abused at a JCREW factory in China or some Asian county (which BTW, became one of the best debate threads of the year, IMO). It was me versus the EF Animal Rights brigade. Had that been a bear or a Hippo, no one would have said a thing.

There have been more graphic pics posted on this board. Didn't someone post a captured & dead alligator once? What about the cat stuck in the garage door?

If I was a hunter (LOL), and wanted to show the deer I killed, would I be wrong? What about a dead fish?
 
To criminologists it is a known fact that most serial killers have a history of first abusing and killing animals. Many savvy law enforcement personnel take animal killings very seriously, not just because they're cute and fuzzy but because it can be an early indicator of more serious problems.

My issue isn't with a dead cat, hell i see them on the roads everyday. My issues was with the story behind the reason he did it. There are other ways to solve the problem of the cat walking on your car.

As an aside, it's been my observation that men who hate cats usually have incredibly fragile egos and usually suffer from either sexual dysfunction or unacknowledged homosexual tendencies. They demand the constant approval that only a dog will give and are confused by some presumed rejection because it's not in a cats nature to drool all over them; which is why they usually have a lot of problems with male-female relationships.

You don't have to love the animal, but don't hate it for what it is.

I was talking with a coworker the other day and he informed me that animals do not have emotions. This is just after he told me (the day that I put my dog of 17yrs down) that animals do not have souls and therefore will never enjoy the concept of heaven. Now, this coworker has the disadvantage of being, what I refer to, as a "bible-thumper." He is, in fact, a born-again Christian. Please bear in mind that I have nothing against Christians, nor do I have anything against religion in general. I do, however, have a problem with this coworker passing along faulty information.

Animals do have emotions and they also have souls, and I'll tell you how I know that. In over twenty years of working with animals, I have never seen a kitten duct-tape a live human baby to a freeway. I also have never seen a cat find enjoyment from setting a human on fire. I've never gone hiking in the desert to find a child that dogs have left tied to a stake, without food and water, subjecting it to a painful death in the desert heat. I have never seen a chicken force two unwilling humans to fight in a ring with razor blades attached to their feet while the chickens place bets on who will be the first to die. I haven't seen a puppy place eight children in a gunnysack and drown them in a river. Neither have I seen an eagle aim a shotgun at an unarmed human. I have yet to see a bear kill a human simply to place a head on the wall of their cave. And to this day, I have not seen a pigeon drive a car down the road and aim for humans who were walking around the park.

Let me tell you what I have seen. I have seen my own cats sleep next to me so they may keep me a little warmer while I was ill. I've seen my dogs play games with me just to force a smile to my face. I have seen a cat rush into a burning home not once, not twice, but six times to save her kittens, nearly losing her own life in the process. I have seen a ferret pull a frightened kitten out of a deep hole in the ground. I have seen a coyote fetch another dog so that it may get the proper medical care that it needs. I've seen a dog, who loves to jump on people, avoid jumping on me when I injured my back. I've seen elephants cry. I've seen monkeys scream in empathy when one of their own were injured. I've seen puppies whine all night long when they were separated from their mothers. I've seen a dog pull a child away from a fire.

These are only a few of the things that I've seen. To list them all would take a lifetime, and I think you get my point. As for the soul thing? Well, it is my humble opinion that if you have emotions, any kind of emotions, then you have a soul. Ironically, the pope of the Roman Catholic Church recently stated that he feels the same way.

Now, I can't prove that animals have souls. But then, I can't prove that you or I have one either. And for all those people who firmly believe that animals don't have souls - well, I suppose if there really is a heaven, you'll probably have the job of cleaning out all the litter boxes...

You are against animal cruelty . . . yet, you call him something that some (maybe many) would find offensive. When one has to result to name calling to get their point across, it diminishes the credibility of their argument.

and I think it's important to note that 2 of the biggest anti-tiger's thread people on this thread are very far on one side of the "I don't care about animals / I LOVE animals" spectrum. anyone leaning that far to one side of ANY issue isn't exactly the most sensible person to speak about the topic. not knocking anyone, just bringing it up.

Yes, lets don't care about something with passion. It's better to go through life shrugging your shoulders, and saying "what ever."


But actually that's not the point. The point is a member posted a very offensive thread, with pictures. That should be the point, but then Tiger might get in trouble if we stay on the subject.


Let's talk about the weather everyone, and pretend that this morning never happened. Then we can do the same thing any other member does something offensive.
