MLB hot stove thread

let's talk about rumors, trades, free agent signings, etc....

Who do you guys think will land Zito?

Will Manny get traded? Seems like the Red Sox want a lot in return for him (as they should).

and I will also say that I'm very excited about the Dodgers hiring Grady Little as the new manager, he was the best option from the available candidates. I just hope they make a few more moves to plug up some of the holes in the line up.

Its football season you retread.

Manny and boston suck.

(thank god the white sox signed konerko back)

dude, lots of moves going on right now

there's a lot of overspending in free agents becasue all the MLB teams got extra cash from the sale of he Nationals and other MLB revenues.

While I think Furcal is a good pick up, I also feel the Dodgers way over spent on him. I think the Blue Jays are spending too much too, specially since they haven't been able to spend in a long time. They are going to fuck up their payroll for the next couple of years.

gammons on the red sox toilet scrubber
"that guy really does an outstanding job cleaning the crap off the bowl after ortiz drops a duece, hed really be an excellent pickup for another team with dirty shitters"

I couldn't believe it when Texas was trading Blalock to the Marlins earlier this month, he's is/gonna be a stud. I can't believe more teams (specially the Dodgers) didn't make moves to try to get him once they found out Texas was willing to move him.

with pathetic harsh penalties for players using steroids, the quality and intensity of the game will diminish ultimately leading to less fans and less revenue.

good job george bush!

yeah, they should promote roids to kids. good thinking.

I hear the Sox SS is going to Atlanta, Atlanta is sending prospects to TB and TB is send their SS Lugo to the Sox.
Boomer might go to the A's for Ducherer!!!

lol @ being excited about little. goes to show how sad that team is right now.
dude had two 90+ win seasons, and 1 bad mistake, get over it, he did.

players seem to love him and the Dodgers were looking for someone to help gel the club house back together. I don't think he's the next saviour (Tommy Lasorda) but he's definately not as bad as Red Sox fans and schmucks like you seem to think.

never implied that!

besides, how did the u.s do with the war against drugs MAJOR campaigns in the 80's and 90's?

not so good mate...
i can score a gram of cocaine in any place in the u.s within a few hours!

so if you think steroids are goin away because numbnut president preaches about it during the state of the union speech, you got another thing coming!

steroids arent goin anywhere and thats that!

in fact....
there are more and more underground labs today than ever before.. and they're multipling each year.

did he make a mistake?
yes he did and i think he's aware of that too!

he was pressured to speak out about it... and then the ball started rolling...

some chic can get breast implants..
a twisted fuck can have a sex change operation..
but we'll go to jail for swallowing NON ADDICTING pills which make us grow muscle/ build self esteem???

The game will not change at all. The testing system is not as good as the Olympics. They only catch 1.5% of the athletes in the Olympics when 100% are using some sort of performance enhancing drugs.
There will just be more UG labs making more undetectable steroids. Last I heard there were well over 100 of them!

you CANNOT judge a manager simply on wins. if that's your case - it's a shitty one.

players seemed to love him?! why? how? he was a fucking idiot pushover on a team full of jagoffs. of course they loved him!

that would be great!

I just heard (on MLB radio) that Soriano might be headed to the Dodgers, this is just in the rumor stage though.

shit, Soriano went to DC.

I guess it's true that the deals that more often happen are the ones that are least talked about

lol,

everything is about gear, right?

and hating bush (well, on that I can relate)

The Rangers got screwed royally in the Soriano deal. They traded a big, all star bat for 3 schmoes.

Soriano - .268, 36 homers, 104 RBIs and 30 stolen bases last season

trader for

Wilkerson - .248, 11 homers, 57 RBIs last season for the Nationals

Sledge, also an outfielder, was limited to just 20 games last season after right hamstring surgery. He hit .243 with one home run.

Right-hander Armando Galarraga went a combined 6-8 with a 3.80 ERA in 27 starts at Class-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg.

who the hell made that trade, some tard?
sorianos #s are going to go wayyyyyyyy down in dc, that team is pathetic on offense

just heard they are thinking of making him play lf, if thats the case his fantasy value will drop like a brick, good outfielders are a dime a dozen, a 2b putting up good #s is like finding a skinny chick at the all you can eat pizza buffet

I know the Dodgers were offering pitching prospect Jonathan Broxton and I'm not sure who else or how many, but Broxton alone seems beter than the above trade. Broxton is like 6'4", 250 lbs and throws in the mid to high 90's. He came up briefly last year and struggled at bit but I think this guy's gonna be a stud. He's scheduled to compete for the #5 starting position in the rotation in spring training.
