Milo - Brookfield crushing grip article

The new Milo just happens to have a good article on different objects around the house that can be used to test grip strength.

Crushing an apple: approx to #1 CoC

Crushing a bulb of garlic: approx to #2 CoC

Crushing a raw potato: harder than #3 CoC, takes 25 sec to do

Crushing a walnut in the palm: as hard or harder than #3 CoC

Raquet ball - touching the side walls: a little harder than #2 CoC

Tennis ball - touching the side walls: quite harder than #3 CoC

Note: the above feats are done without using the fingers to "stab" into the objects; finger crushing strength only.
 
That's cool, when my grip strength becomes powerful I will have a few party tricks in my arsenal :D
 
Does this arcitle (please link) have recommendations on excericese that are good for developing this strength?

Also, for some reason, I don't think the walnut crushing is that hard. Are you sure you copied that right?
 
The crushing is done in the palm, just finger strength curling in to crush, not at the tips of the finger. The walnut at the tips of the finger or between the thumb and fingers is a little easier.
 
Can you damage your hands training with those things? Seems to me that the hands although amazingly strong are a bit frail for that sort of work load?

The only thing I've tried before is a potato. Those little brown bastards are tougher than they look:)
 
just ordered the CoC #1 for my gf's dad. i wonder if it will be too easy. he usually has grippers laying around that are vanquished.

what do you think?
