milk after workouts?

Generally you would want some type of fast acting carbs along with your protein to replenish the glycogen you lost while training. Additionally you want to avoid FAT like the plague PWO. Fat slows down the absorption of nutrients and the insulin spike the sugars create for an anabolic environment. You can mix your whey with 2 cups FAT FREE milk and this would be a good PWO drink for a financially struggling student lol.
 
Yes, get some carbs in there.

Take your protein with water for sure, and not milk. Milk can be used any other time though, just not PWO. I suppose skim milk is fine. Milk has 12g sugar per serving (8oz).

I pound 45g of waxy maize PWO followed 15 minutes after with 40 grams protein mixed in water.

I think he is a student who has just started training. I know money can be tight when young and in school. Fat free milk is perfectly fine PWO. I have used it in the past when funds were tight and it did the trick. I do agree waxy + BCAA then Whey iso would be ideal, but maybe not for his situation.
 
currently i have myoplex ready to go packets and it has a good amount of carbs and 42 grams of protein. so i dont think i would need milk if thats the case. i also use raw mcc. so i plan on mixing raw mcc with myoplex and water.

If funds are tight, then skip the WMS, but still a 6 lb tub is only like 25 bucks and it lasts for like 6 months.

Skim will do the trick, like you said. I was just proposing the theoretical ideal situation.
 
yea all im taking is the myoplex + rawmcc. it only has 25 calories from fat which isnt bad. considering it has 280 calories. a total 3g of fat.
