Midtown Manhattan

What is it going to be like on New years eve? Is it far enough away from Time Square to avoid the rediculous crowds? Anyone ever stayed at the Benjamin?

it will be crowded as hell.

never stayed at the benjamin.

i went to times square last year for new years. it was a mad house and it sucked. i will never again go on new years... good luck

It will be a madhouse. Millions of people.

Times Square is considered to be in Midtown.

Are you going to be on the East or West side? Times Square is 42nd & Broadway.

Where is your hotel located?

Seriously, I would go another weekend. Do you have to go up that weekend?

There you are. I was hoping you would reply because I trust what you say. We are staying at the Benjamin on 125 East 50th Street. And I already paid for the room!

Yes, but you don't want to go too far up. I would look into the Columbus Circle Area (59th Street & Broadway). You can catch several trains and, of course, a cab.

Or, look into getting a room at The Pennsylvania (I think that's it). Its right across the street from Madison Square Garden. Its on 7th (in between 33rd & 34th). Its below Times Sqaure, but one stop away from the action.

Keep in mind that there will be parties all over. And Manhattan isn't that hard to get around. I think if you look for a place between 34th street & 63rd Street, you will be okay.

Nice Place. ;)

You will be fine. Above Times Square, but not too far.

Is that a serious question? lol...Check out Little Italy bro, you will have fun, trust me.

I am in charge of the itinerary...so I was thinking get there around 12 afternoon, check in, go to ground 0, see 1 museum, dinner then start the fetivities.

Da Nico's is the bomb.

Bobber, your place is well located in Mid-town. Central Park starts on 59th. There will be parties EVERYWHERE from downtown to 'da Bronx. There will be MANY people there so avoiding the crowds will be difficult. Are you trying to hit a bar or some sort or lounge?

if i were you and you wanted to hit a nice club or lounge up alot of the good places are tickets only and you need to buy them in advance or dont even think your getting in. unless your just going to go bar hopping. theres 5 bars on ever block but thats wack if you ask me.

By parties everywhere do you mean in like hotel rooms or houses or what? I just want to have the most amount of fun and avoid the crowds because my friends are flying up from TX for this and I don't want them to be standing around like sardines somewhere in NY.

avoiding the bars will be impossible maing. you picked one of the worst times ever - why?!

I just wanted something different to do with my friends and we all figured it would be fun. No one in my group has ever been there so everyone is excited. So should we go to Da Nicos for the night or is it just a restaurant? What is anisette? Where will be our best bet?

LMFAO @ what is anisette!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bro, I'm sure you can find some less crowded places. it all depends on what you are into (ie are you and your friends the bar type or the dress nice lounge type). Some of the best nights I've had in NY involved just walking around going to random places and then following the crowds or the nani

it's a licorice falvored liquer. I don't think you guys would be into it.

not much help? do you really want someone to tell you a bar to go to? you're going to hand over your night to someone you don't even know, that may have completey different tastes than you?

last year they had a concert in central park along with the party in times square. it looks like to me that no matter where you go in the city it will be a mad house.

decide on a place. get tickets. your going to drop $200 but thats the price you pay for doin it right. arrive. have a blast. be whoever you want to be. meet girls. fuckem in your hotel.

repeat again next week.

KB - Does it taste like Jaeger Meister? If you were to go to Austin and wanted to know what to do I could plan out an entire day worth of activities for you and I would be certain that a male age 21-28 would have a blast doing it.

Bigman - What if I go to the upper east side , is that any fun?

Dunk - Any suggestions?
