Thanx

I wouldn't eat fruit late at night either...too much fructose. The theory here is that you don't need carbs before going to bed - because you're really only laying there (and hence, you obviously aren't active). Having said that, I know some guys who eat plenty of carbs late at night and never seem to have trouble - so go with whatever your metabolism can handle.

Instead of fruit though, I would shoot for a high protein meal that has minimal carbs. Cottage cheese is a good idea....lots of casein which will digest slowly throughout the night while you sleep....

Carbs will keep insulin up and cortisol down.

I think a large carb meal would probably also help alleviate the morning nadir seen with leptin levels.

And, of course, you always want protein.

this guy at my uncle's gym wakes up and eat some type of ice cream with frosted flakes sprinkled on top, that kinda cracked me up...he was huge w/ low body fat who knows?
