did you hear this one...say you buy a game and you've got kids, you and your kids have each their own live account. Guess what, you will have to pay some sort of fees for each account to play the same game on the system. It's that or buy each one of your kids their own xbox. So if a friend comes over and wants to play a game he's gonna have to play with your account. I read this over at overclock earlier and I couldn't believe it. Supposedly Sony's stock went up a couple % after the unveiling of the new xbox and MS's went down, that's fucking hilarious.
Supposedly that won't be the case since the tags associated to the console will supposedly be able to share. But honestly I've been an Xbox guy from the beginning but this launch was disappointing. More info is to come so can't hold judgement yet this was just the official announcement.

Yeah I've always been a Xbox guy. If you buy a used game you will have to pay a fee. They can take there fee and shove it way up there ass, ill be buying a ps4
I've always been on the Sony side of things from the start because of the monopolizing and greedy Microsoft (much like Apple), and it looks like I won't be switching sides with the next gen consoles either.

Sony was doing the same shit before, it's just now the polished turd is gleaming so hard on MS's side that people look at SOny and go hey they ain't so bad. Both of them have utterly destroyed console gaming.

that is true. I was referring to Sony's industry strongarming they used to take part in before MS came in. So supposedly now I'm reading that maybe multiple accounts can be linked to a single machine. But yesterday the opposite was being said by MS's own representatives. So my guess is that MS talks about something they put in the machine and as soon as they get negative reaction on something they walk it back and say oh we're not doing that. I predict they give zero straight answers before this thing goes on sale so that people just buy it and then get "pleasantly" surprised later when they realize the bullshit they just paid $500 for. Once you've invested that kind of money you're not going to just dump it. And that actually is how MS has handled their entire product line. As soon as an OS comes out that has comparable office software, I'm switching OS too. I'm really tired of MS.

I will stick with my jtagged/jasper and flashed/zephyr, oh and not ever without my ihas"b" burner. I'll carry the xbox360 crowd in here. I can take either online without issue. Having a backup of ur previously purchased game is a god sent.

Looking at those specs, it's ironic when you think that Microsoft makes billions per quarter in profit, while Sony just posted their first in I think 8 years, (not even half a billion for the whole year, and that was after selling off some assets).

The tipping point for Sony getting into the game was Nintendo screwing them over. On a public stage no less.
What goes around comes around. Each hardware maker has brought some good and bad to the industry, but Sony in my opinion has had the biggest positive impact in favor of gamers (especially adult) by far.

except that I blame them for setting the table for a company like MS to get involved in the industry. Sharks and vultures attract other sharks and vultures. Console gaming is going to suck so hard now. Sony isn't turning it around either I hope all you fan boys are aware of that. They'll be quietly pulling their own shit quite happy that someone else is fucking up harder thus taking the attention away from them.
Newell is my only hope now. Now that both Sony and MS have dropped trou I hope he finally starts talking about his own shit.
My biggest complaint is used games. Now I buy my games new but I do trade in older ones that I don't play. Companies like GameStop won't support a pricing model like ms has proposed for new games cause there is no point who is going to buy a used disc at GameStop the go home and pay the activation fee. And rumor mill is games could be from 70-80 on this next gen consoles.

"IF" that's true it's the end of console gaming. They've always told us that the reason games are even $60 is because of piracy and the used game market. SO they deal with that AND up the price? Finished. That pricing strategy cannot be supported and just trying to implement either from MS or Sony will result in such ill will that the whole industry could collapse. People will start writing vicious virus's that hit consoles.
Even with all the stuff surrounding the new consoles. One if the gaming industries biggest problems is the actual games. Games these days are cookie cutter unfinished rushed messes with very little value in game play. Even the last dead island game released full of glitches and only took 15 hours.

I will not buy the next gen if games are $70-80. That's just so stupid, I am not going to pay almost a bill for a stupid video game. I will quit playing or just keep my 360 and use that.
Mark my words, if Valve enters the console market, they'll eventually be different than anyone before them. That's simply what happens when you combine the free market with the flaws of human nature in a volatile industry like gaming.
Btw, even if games did get bumped up to $70 this gen, consumers would still be ahead of the game.

doesn't it still have to route through the controller though? In any case likely not because MS has basically said we're taking control of the peripheral market. Gabe needs to roll out his Linux box in a big way now.
No it doesn't. It's microsofts wireless one you sync it to the 360 just like a controller and they aren't going to change their wireless tech in the controller, and since its already a peripheral I hope it still works.
Ms and Sony already own the peripherals market in a very real sense. Back in the n64 ps2 and GameCube days and original x box there were tons of third party peripherals. Nowadays there are only a few companies left and due to patents most of what they come out with sucks. Save nykos kinect magnifier which works wonderfully.
