What's up guys. Basically looking for the cheapest pair of microplates online. I'm looking into the chain idea, but at the same time want to see if I can get plates for a decent price. Let me know if you know of anything. Thanks.

type in fractional weights in google. there's lots of different sites to check out. the cheapest one's I could find awhile back were around $40.

hi i was just looking myself and like mad dipz says around 40 bucks i did find a site that has some for 30 bucks before shipping but "The plates are discounted because of manufacturing flaws. The fractional plates are less then perfect in appearance (uneven chroming, poor finish, poor stamping, etc.)." heres the site http://www.ironwoodyfitness.com/fractionals.php.

Back when I decided to get fractional plates, I just decided to take the plunge and get the $50 Iron Woody set. The flexibility to increase by any amount between .5 and 4.5 (in half-pound increments) is quite useful, and it's something you can use for the rest of your lifting career (or at least as long as consistent 5-pound jumps aren't sustainable, which will be a while on stuff like OHP and isolation work). IMO, you should just save some money elsewhere, say by not buying some bogus supplement for a month, and get a decent set of microplates.

^^^ CS sounds like a good plan. Being a broke student at the time, i just bought 2 sets of chains, 1 set = 1 1/4lb other = 2 1/2. Easy enough for me, but I'd sure like one of those nicer sets :-D.
