I tried Meridia for about a week once....and stopped, because it didn't do a damn thing for me. No appetite suppression whatsoever as far as I could tell. I think it only works for really fat people...I found this guideline in some literature on Meridia:
Meridia is recommended for over weight patients with an initial Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 27
I think that it's basically a waste of money for BBers. I have used Fastin (phentermine hcl) before, however, and it definately cut my appetite and gave me a bonus energy boost as well.
