Mein Kampf........worth reading?

I'm turning into an avid reader :) I'm considering buying Mein Kampf.........anybody read it?

I'm kinda interested in getting Hitlers perspective on things.........

read 'the young hitler i knew' by august kubizek. That was a good insight into hitler's personality.

He wrote another book called Young Hitler but i've never read that one.

What are you looking to get out of it?

Well, very little is taught about his beliefs. I am trying to get my head around the driving force behind the man.........what he believed in, how those ideas developed and why they developed.

I will look into that other book Nordstrom.........thanks.

I heard its badly written...he wasn't much of a writer =/

It is but in order to have an idea and be able to discuss about these issues, I believe it's worth the time.

I read it about 25 years ago. If I recall correctly, it was not a very coherent read - he wasn't as articulate in writing as he was hypnotic in speech.

I think its interesting in that you gain insight in the control of a nation, but there are better books for that. If you are simply interested in his persona, read it for sure

Just ordered it....along with a couple of Marx books (Capital and The Communist Manifesto). Should get plenty of lighter stuff in the next few days..........just waiting for Parcel Force to get their act together.

it is worth reading so that you can understand that even withthis book out in the open, the germans elected Hitler.

I love when people say The Nazis fought that war/killed those people" as if the Nazis came from the trees of the Teutonic forests.

After that read "Constantine's Sword".

I was gonna say, it's probably out there for free.

Most of the stuff worth readign is available for free.

Check out project Gutenberg....you'll nver buy a book again!

I'm reading Waverly right now, AWESOME book.

As per Mein Kampf, I think I tried to read it a long while back but as I rememebr I just couldn't get into it. Super boring and just plain bad.

He had learning disabilities.........the book is hard to read, but well worth it. I wrote a paper on it freshman year of college.

yeah i might check it out too, just to see his perspective on things. dont get me wrong i m in no way a nazi supporter, but the dude's got quite an auora of charisma around him.
