Megadosing With Zinc

I'M MEGA DOZING ZINC TO HELP CLEAR MY SKIN:
3 x 15 MG= 45 MG
WILL I BE DEFICIENT IN ANY OTHER MINERALS ETC DUE TO THE HIGH ZINC, OR ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR WHEN USING ZINC AT HIGH LEVELS?

Taking the amount you indicated is fine, but zinc unlike b5 is fat soluble and can get toxic if over 300mg is taken IMO 100mg should be the limit.. anymore and you could impare imune function. When taking a full dose of ZMA people get 90mg which is fine.

Taking a copper supplement or multivitamin would be wise. Zinc inhibits copper absorption, which can lead to anemia and lower levels of HDL “good” cholesterol. Copper intake should be increased if zinc supplementation continues for more than a few days.But alot of zinc supplements now include copper in the formulation to prevent zinc-induced copper deficiency.

Calcium (milk) can inhibit zinc absorbtion, so aviod taking calcium rich meals at the same time as intake, and like zma it works best while on a empty stomach, or before bed becasue some people get drousy.

Although not directly hindering, Zinc does compete for absorption with iron, calcium and magnesium..

i know calcium really fucks up zinc absorption..
