well it definately wasnt what she thought it was going to be. she was supposed to be staying at an airforce base but when she got there they moved them to a Knights Of Columbus and has to sleep on a cots with 150 other helpers. there is only 1 shower for all 150 people. yuk.... but she said that it smells real bad there. people still will not leave and are throwing things at them when they ask them to leave the city. she got there at 10 am yesterday and went non-stop till when she called me. shes a trooper i tell ya.
she said it is very unorganized and there is nobody in charge. if someone needs something to get done they go from one person to the next until they find someone that will do the job. she said that she saw another paramedic from a different company standing next to his ambulance drinking a beer before they were about to go out and start there job. mostly they are picking up dead bodies and telling the straglers to leave. they dont understand that their is disease thear and that they can die if they stay. these people dont care. one woman had a 2 year old in her arms and refused to leave. so the police told her they are going to take the 2 year old and if she wants to stay she can but the 2 year old is leaving. so the woman decided to leave with her 2 year old.
what r these people thinking? most of them have no food left, absolutely no electricity, and no medical supplies. she said there are dead animals everywhere, power lines down everywhere, buildings are all messed up. these people are staying in there homes that have fallen over.
i told her i would let you guys know how its goin there. she will call me later. ill keep you guys up to date.. if anyone has any questions they want me to ask her let me know and ill ask. lets try and keep it serious ok fellas?????
