Medical Info Please

I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about fusion surgery. I don't know if that is the correct term for it. But a friend of mine is going in for fusion surgery on his vertebrae, and it may not turn out so well. Does anyone have any info or know of any experiences with it? I would appreciate anything you could tell me. I'm really worried about him. Thanks everybody.

Thanks...I have been doing research on it too. I suppose in a way, that I was hoping I might be able to get something more than just medical terminology. That's what I got from my friend too. Not exactly comforting. But thanks.

Sorry haven't had the surgery and don't know anyone who has. Just thought I would give ya a link......Didn't know if you were one of those people that don't know how the search engines work

I believe that fusion surgery is where the doc melds the bones together to keep em stabilized or from grinding bone on bone causing a great deal of pain.
