Do these monkeys every get anything done on time?

Went to get the chain/sprockets changed out on my bike. Was supposed to be done at 6pm last night but told them I would swing by in the morning since I had to work.

I go through the hassel of getting a ride only to show up and find out that the bike hasnt even been touched.   :destroy: :destroy:

lol, you called them monkeys.

I have never had a pleasurable experience with the mechanics, everytime I take my car in for something, they always seem to 'find' something else wrong with it that NEEDS to be replaced imediatly or else my car will blow up and kill me costing me at least $500 more than I had anticipated spending. LOL, damn grease monkeys

some are really good, but many are really really bad.. and dishonest too :(

I have found one mechanic I trust but he only works on my trucks and cars. I have a buddy who works as a mechanic at Kawi/BMW that I will have work on my bike.

yeah...my bike is ready with new computer and speedo...the shop called me last night. i was actually surprised.
Bike mechanics are the worst, becuase people just ride the shit out of them, and the dump them off for someone else to take care of...mundane repairs are not what most of these guys got into the profession for...they become apathetic...get a motorcycle mechanice drinking, and you'd swear you were talking to a New York City homicide detective....LOL

Bullshit.

I paid for a service (65$ an hour) and expect the service to be carried out in a timely manner. It's not my fault they run a terrible business.

Besides, I dont have the tools or time.

I learned how to fix my own car.

I only use mechanics to do things I can't...like press in bearings, align tires, or resurface a flywheel.

It will also give you an appreciation of what they have to deal with. They have a book that tells them how long a job should take. Many times, due to other issues, the job takes longer, or involves some other problem.
whenever a mechanic gives you a timeline for something, take it with a grain of salt.

exactly , then u get some kid that calls all mechanics scum

Well my experience has showed me that the best service isn't at large chain car shops. My car has gotten the best service at mom-and-pop shops.

Like Sears, Firestone etc. all have terrible service IMO.

yep , thats because the mom and pop places need your business , so they still put the customers first unlike huge corperations that dont strive off justa few peeps

You made the mistake of telling them you'll pick it up in the morning. Not like it's your fault, but that's how ypou gotta talk to them sometimes. "Oh yeah, I'll be there at 6PM to pick it up" Then they'll fix it instead of thinking they could do it before tomorrow morning when you'd pick it up.

If you find a good mechanic, as well as a construction crew, hold on to them tight, because they're worth keeping. It's too easy to get fucked over in those businesses.

I just got my car back from the mechanic today $890 for an iginition switch and distrubter and tuneup. ouch.
