405x3 out of groove a little here so i stopped there..

Pause Squats (raw)

im really liking these.. they are working muscles that have been neglected from only using a wide stance..i feel my dead getting better already

Decline sits done with a pause at bottom for 2-3 secs

Also, keep posting this stuff, it's helpful for those of us just starting to understand the logic behind westside, as opposed to just going through the motions like I did my first few runs. For example, I like how you explain that pause squats address the weakness you uncovered in yourself. The helps people like me starting out in pl understand the big picture and how to organize my training.

glad you found something you can use..
most of the westside guys would prefer zercher squats..i would try them all at one point..

a friend on another board swears by these (hard to argue with a 1k squatter and close to an 800 dead)its only my second week doing them but they are something i need..i started light the goal is one working set of 5 reps but obviously if its too light i do more ...

you cant go wrong trying different things..also westside is not about following rules its a way for you to set up your own training and make it work for you..really the only template in my mind is ME days and DE day..how you set it up and what you do on those days is up to you..if you have any questions just fire away!!! :)
 
Embrace the Zercher's, also try some Romanian deads. I use them as accessory movements but they will kick your ass.

pause squats are brutal! your weight in those will go up fast,.... so will your squat!

he had a broken back at one time, and then started lifting again- he LOVED paused squats and his regular squats really soared that year he did so much paused squats.

i know who your are talking about, i can't remeber his name either, he has a pretty good squat.

im sure itll help my squat but im mainly doing them with a close stance for my deadlift..

my squat stance is ultra wide as im not a quad squatter

me either, but they still will help your squat. most of my assistance carries over to sq and dl. you will notice a gain in your squat from them, especially if you train wide box squats all the time. even in narrow you are still hitting your glutes and hamstrings, be sure to take those pause squats real low.
and btw, i gave up on waiting for you to send me a loan, and took a second job so i could get some metal gear, if that dont work im getting a second mortgage on my house, that might be enough for the shirt and some wraps :)

yep they are way below parallel and held for a solid 2-3 second count
someone actually darted over to me when i didnt come up right away lol
gues they though i was stuck :)

Look at you in your new Avi! Wow - what a close conventional stance - good stuff! BTW - i had never replied on the meet...going to do the NASA Nationals in June...18th-ish?

yes, but that is my worst lift, i have a bench one i will put in there later, i think the squat one went to my gallery. good luck at the nationals.
