Actually I-95 in Florida makes the top 10 of deadliest highways in America but California takes it for deadliest highways. Top Ten Deadliest Stretches of Road in America | Fox News

It's got to be scary as shit the first time, I know in California you can't avoid it, but here on the east coast some people who have been driving for decades have managed to avoid ever using the interstate. Frankly, I go into anxiety/panic mode just being a passenger on a freeway, being boxed in by big trucks *shudder*
 
IF you aren't going 80+ here you're in the way. Also, if you leave just barely over a car length of space between you and the car in front of you, expect someone to merge into that space. If you leave less than a car length of space, expect someone to aggressively merge into that space, forcing you to slow down or collide with them.

I wasn't really talking about how dangerous they are. It's more like how intimidating they can look to someone who has never been on them.

When i was 16 i was plowin through packs of smokes and bottles of Boone's farm while speeding down the Dan Ryan in my parents' station wagon. You got nothin to worry about
 
I remember how nervous I was when I first drove on the highway. Very little traffic at the time and I hit 60 for the first time, man I felt like a pro racer.lol

Good luck nan, you'll be confident on the HW in no time.
 
I survived! Hit 75 teehee, my max had been 60 before that

@MM I did get boxed by 2 trucks and had a micro breakdown but kept driving telling myself "if I'm in my own lane I'll be ok, stay on ur lane"
