Yeah, what they all said. I was one test away from MCSE (the SQL Server stuff).

I've never been in a situation where I thought "boy am I glad I got that certification".

That said, chicks dig it.

exactly, I didn't take the last 2 exams either as I didn't need them.

Already have a programming degree, the MCP and enough experience to give me the edge over the million of paper MCSE's out there.

And while we're on the subject...

I'm going to assume this is a national and not a local thing, but I keep hearing commercials for tech schools offering "training" to get you certified in any number of things. The training is nothing more than a glorified brain dump designed to get you to pass the tests, and they're telling people they'll get jobs making $50-$60K a year after completing their programs.

With the market the way it is now, and so many companies being wise to these kinds of schools, it's unethical and borderline fraudulent to me.

But he has to have on the job experience along with his certs before I'll do BDSM stuff.

I got laid off about 2 years ago. And now Im self employed. The funny thing is no one knows what the MCSE is. Maybe Ill go for the cisco cert - CCNP.

Get a 4-yr degree with a minor in project mgmt or something similiar.
