I'm using daily situations because they're easier examples, but really I'm talking bigger life changes.

I've been taking this test for years, and I've always got ENTP. Always - probably 7 or 8 times. Life's been crazy the past year, though, and suddenly it says I'm INFJ? (Not just on this test, but one other I took a couple months back). That's a change in 3/4 different areas. Shouldn't be that different if your dominant features are constant and not influenced by events, no?

Actually Annie, it's just a change in one area which had an effect on your auxiliary and tertiary function results on the test. The ENTP dominant function is Ne and the INFJ is Ni. That's an interesting change in perspective/perception

I'm sorry, I should have worded that differently. I wasn't using dominant to refer to the dominant intuition function. I was speaking to the new existence of I, F, J in my type over E, T, P in general.

Because there four together are the "personality" (loosely). And the profile of the INFJ is far from that of the ENTP. From a personality standpoint, they're totally different as are they very different in the way the two process the world around them, which is fine, but points plenty to your type being malleable and influenced - though perhaps not easily totally changed. Like I said, that was after some big life stuff, not just "Oh, I had a shitty day".

I know what i scored back in grade school but haven't done one as an adult and I swear I'm less intelligent.

I've aways been INTJ. The higher S comes from working in a corporate environment, but it's not really my default state. I would guess that it's similar to what happend with Smurfy's INTJ -> ISTJ results.
