Maybe I am missing something here...

I was driving to work this morning, and Pearl Jam's "I'm Still Alive" was just ending, and the DJ said that is dedicated to Mrs Sciavo (which I thought was kind of amusing.)

He then went on about how the Prez signed a bill into law to keep her alive, and a poll that overwhelmingly said the Prez and Congress should not be involved in this. (For those that don't know, This Schiavo woman has been in a vegatative state for 15 years, and is fed by a feeding tube - which the husband wants out, but her family wants in. Family is going to court after court, who keep saying take the tube out - but congress and the prez got involved - I guess since they value life so much...)

Anyway, I was thinking of this fiasco, the recent steroid hearings, the constant 1st amendment abuse, and I starting thinking...

I thought the Republicans preached small government and allowing local lawmakers and the business industry to regulate their own issues. The Democrats are supposed to be the ones overly involved in social reform.

What the fuck is going on?

I agree with the steroids bull, but I dont see anyone on the other side of the aisle coming to the defense either, so I guess that would be a wash huh

Here's how it works, the repubs want states to be able to deceide to cut down forests, allow more factories to pump out more pollution. But any moral issuses they dissagree with they will step right in.
