I've never maxed on anything before but I read a post last night about someone that maxed on deads and was psyched...and today was my back day. So I warm up...135x15, 225x12...then 315x1...CAKE! Another plate on each side...grip, pull...nothing
Step back...give it a piece of my mind...grip, pull...about 8 inches
So I drop it down to 365...grip, pull...no dice. WTF? I went back to 315 and pulled 6 single reps with about 20 sec between...no problem. I had 10 reps of 270 last week after 225X15x2. So I'm a little bummed but I don't really know what I expected...I've been cutting for 6 weeks (down to 170lbs) working 12-15 rep sets on everything and have never worked less than 6-8 rep sets anyway. Started doing deads 6 months ago.
