Jeez!! It's ALL over the darn news....... it's all they can talk about.....

Talk about sensationalism!! For cryin' out loud -- it's not like we live in Siberia where we would be without food for a week.....

They're saying it's either going to be all rain or 8+ inches of snow....

Oh gawd....

LOL!!!

When I first moved to this area I couldn't help but bust out laughing at how many people stock up for major storms.

I know really...... I always wonder -- do these people shop for groceries daily?? I always have a loaf of bread in the fridge...... I guess they go thru a loaf of bread every 2 days or something....

I just thought of something -- the news obviously knows that in this area, people tend to stock up on groceries when a storm is coming..... SO I think the news people & the grocery stores are in cahoots -- the news channel must get a kickback from grocery stores to bump up food sales......

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

All I know is that the weatherdick on the radio this morning said, "Either we are going to get 1 inch of snow and then rain, or 1 foot of snow and no rain." THANKS FOR THAT, DICKFACE! I have no respect for weathermen - they have no ultimate responsibility.

I agree. ihave always thought that the city and gas companies/auto mechanics are in cahoots. Tons of potholes that don't get fixed for years, more and more stop signs and red lights every time I take a drive.

lol ;) i thought only people with big handlebar moustaches used the word cahoots ;)

anyway people around here are anything but worried about the weather. one year there was a tropical cyclone/hurricane and i was booooooooored stupid sitting at home (since emergency had been declared etc etc) so i thought 'fuckit' and braved my way to the bookstore - which was open - and full of people complaining about being bored ;)

Another theory, courtesy of my hubby -- the news stations OWN the grocery chains!! AHA!! That's it!!

Bro,.....SWEAR that was posted yesterday cause thats way too freaky...........I wasnt on for more than 2 mins yes., had no idea......props on the good taste!

Damn-didn't u get hit with this shit just the other day?? I think here in KS were just about in the clear..........but im not holding my breath. February is usally pretty brutal and it's been pretty mild. I just hope March isn't a relapse. I remember 1 year winter lasted forever, and just skipped over spring pretty much. Cold/Hot. If it were like that every year......i'd be outta here.

looks like i have a valid reason to work from home

that's all i really care about

oh shit i better stock up on bread

brb

lmao! there was a thread on here where Jenscats and I were talking about how we were watching the movie yesterday on TV.

I hope It Hits Tonight.

so Everyones In A Tizzy and We Get Out Of Work Or Something.

2 ft. or so here .

I often laugh at how much Americans freak out over a little bit of snow. I live fairly close to the border with northern NY state, and have a local station from there on my cable. I've seen them cancel school bus service for just a few centimeters of snow...it's unreal.

Well, it's supposed to hit here between 7-10am..... RUSH HOUR!!

On a side note -- stopped by Acme on the way home from the gym to get some shrimp, turkey & cheese & it wasn't that crowded..... surprised!

true dat....

I just think it's hilarious how they sensationalize it....

meh
the prediction is 20 centimetres for tomorrow evening
nothing much
that'll only be the 20th day we have had more than 8 inches of snow in a day
wait till it snows, thaws to balmy, rains, then freezes again
can you say "skating rink"?
oh sorry to all the folks missing the nhl

I laugh when the news talks about us having a drought and it has only been 2 weeks since it last rained. I grew up in Cali and not having rain for 2 months was a drought.

Was born in Camarillo and then when I was about 4 we moved inland to Fontana. Have family in Paso Robles and San Diego.

California weather is fucked up. I remember as a kid the first time I saw snow I was riding my bike with shorts and a short sleve shirt on and this white stuff was falling from the sky. I didn't even know what it was I was so young. Then we were visiting my grandmother up in the mountains, but it was a desert area and one night it got so cold it snowed and I was very confused. It was not susposed to snow in the desert. Not to mention the freak hail storm or the burning hillsides that made the sky snow with ashes for a week.

LOL, well I sometimes I wish I was not where I am now. I'm in fucking Alabama! Thank god I live in a college town and there is a lot of diversity and not a lot of backwoods yokels, but we have our fair share.

I'd love to be back in Cali somewhere. I got to visit there about 2 years ago and it was just so refreshing. The air was so nice to breath, it is so heavy in Alabama with all this humidity. At least the air was clean where I was at back in Paso Robles.

It could be worse!

yea ottawa is a bit like that
stuck down in a river valley
lots of humidity
lots of jarheads
lots of college kids
and politicians and still so conservative
geez i am in alabama north lol
thank god for cheap vodka

LOL, bet they cant drive worth a shit either!

Hey but I've got the Bible Belt here!!! Just tonight I had some people come to the apartment giving out pamplets. "Do you believe in god!" "yes" "Have you BEEN SAVED!!!!!!" "Yes" then it was getting annoying and i asked if there is anything else that then wanted. Yeah i'm a christian, but don't come to my house!

bud there's a bible belt here too
and it is so disguised
here we have alot of french catholics but also alot of very religious "others"
in manitoba near steinbach is something akin to puritans
gee

and no they can't drive worth shit
it snow so much here and they still forget how to deal with it
saw a mofo today in a brand new mustang accelerate heedlessly a round a corner
idiot ended up on the curb
gratefully the opposite curb of me or he'd have that mustang up his yuppy ass

I hear ya!

He drives a mustang so what do you expect. I usually just look at them and shoot a rev and then all they see are tail lights. All flash and no dash.

Ha if we had snow here nobody drives nothing. The whole fucking city closes down!! It's so funny. I lived in Illinois for a few years and coming to Alabama and seeing what happens when it snows made me sick.

snows not at all that bad
it the fucking subhuman temps i cannot abide by
today was -17
that's like 9 degrees F
tack on the humidity and whatever you are wearing just is not enough
i had 6 layers on
just don't see how the woman can come out with just sweaters, her jacket and jeans
yea she looks hot but i freeze just looking at her lil bod in those thin jeans with this damn cold
she'll be nasty tomorrow if she has to walk home in the snow
guess i'm going to have to practice the wedding carry
gee so soon?

I remember when I first moved to Illinois and I hard the hardest time adjusting to the cold from living in Texas, but after a year all I wore was jeans and a jean jacket when I was about 11yrs old and that was all I needed. Didn't matter if it was 20F or -5F. Somehow I just adjusted. Now it is a different story since I've been in AL for 9~10 years and when it gets to 45 i'm fucking cold. Although I work somewhere on the weekends that is constantally 30F and -30F in the freezer. Freezer gear really keeps you warm.
