i dont know if youll be able to get a hotel on bourban st this close to mardi gras, a lot of people make their reservations a year in advance. it will be pretty expensive too.

i thought mardi gras was the shit? we went last yr. but it was a week or so before mardi gras. it was cool though.

we made reservations last yr. about 4 months out. we didnt go for personal reasons so i dont know if the hotel was any good or not. but i want a good place right smack dab in the middle of bourban st.

Mardi gras is disgusting. The streets smell like piss and the crowd is full of nothing but ghetto, bandanna wearing, 16 year old, gang memeber, thugs.

You get charged to take a piss, usually around 3-4$, and if you get caught pissing in public, you will go straight to jail.

There are always way too many people there, everyone starts pushing, you wallet will get stolen because the trash of society will take it from you.

I've been the past 2 years, it might be something you want to do ONCE in your life.

Austin is no fun cause all the high school kids go and get tough with everyone. Thats why there was a so called "riot" last year. Mardi Gras sucks all around.
