Which do you think it is. There is no rockhard, solid evidence that natural warming occurs. There is very little, to no, evidence that man made global warming exsists.

I believe it does have something to do with man and society but it's not as bad as they say.

That's because to the greenies it is their religion and yes it is political.

That is what I find so unappealing about it - the discussion shouldn't be a political one in my mind.

We're only 10,000 years out from the last Ice Age. Some changes and adjustments in the world climate would still be normal.

Have you looked into that experiment the Danes did trying to replicate cosmic rays bombarding the atmosphere and their resultant effect on cloud formation?

Their premise is basically that during high activity solar periods, the Sun's magnetic field shields the earth from cosmic rays, reducing cloud cover and increasing mean temperature.

The Sun has a seven year cycle as far as it's solar flare and sunspot activity goes, so if you are referring to that sort of "high activity" then you would need to observe the changes every few years.

There are lots of possibilities and I'm sure a lot of things are contributing to global climate changes. The sun will always be in control though. I imagine one result of all the allegedly harmful effects of the gases we emit is an increase in the frequency of certain types of reactions that are generally in place to maintain a certain homeostasis. I don't know.

I think one thing remains true: more and more issues need to be addressed on a global scale and some sort of organizational body needs to be implemented in order to efficiently manage things. People are too stupid and self-involved to see it in many cases but it is a necessity. For all practical purposes, the world's current management is akin to every state/province of a country doing everything their own way and going it alone - we all know this does not work. If everyone focusses solely on local concerns before you know it we're globally fucked.

However, by creating this body do we not make ourselves slave to concensus, which may actually be wrong? I see no problem with regulating output of greenhouse gases and invariate care for the environment from just a "do no harm" general philosophy. Is global warming, necessarily, a bad thing for humanity in general? If we increase growing seasons in polar territories, will that not offset drought and malaise in the equatorial regions?

I just disagree with the premise of doom and gloom associated with global warming that is the current drive of the environmental lobby.

Only thing I know, is that the icelandic cap...."sp?" is disappearing very fast and so is that huge as glacier that is in europe that is around some mountain range and "used" to cover most of the land... someone help me with the names on these. how much has melted in the past 10 years compared to the past hundreds is huge! Which is supposedly going to make the ocean rise.

small shit i'm not worried about, but when huge events like these are happening and are soon to be gone for good.

I for one don't want to ocean to rise and flood florida, then all those old farts and everyone else will be moving up here to where I live where it's nice and quiet and then i'll be fucked. ;-)

Easy for someone in the mid-west to think it doesn't exist, we don't see any changes at all. But there are a ton of other countries getting fucked.

eh, fuck it, I don't know, i'll quit rambling now... But it's definitely on my mind as to what the future holds... say, when i'm about to retire. I want to enjoy it, not have shit weather and be stuck inside all day ;-)
