do you really think most males who don't compete but still pursue the physical ideal are somehow lacking in the ability to get lean? i resemble that remark.

I don't think I said anything like that in my post (or at least did not mean to) but...
I think males have a much better ability getting lean than females, because they don't have all that damn estrogen (and I'm jealous!) Society puts more pressure on women to be lean, probably more so if they're muscular. Women add even more pressure on themselves, even if there's not a tangible reason like a competition. (For a woman "just because" is often reason enough!) Men are more sensible about such things, but also I think society is more accepting of men of varying shapes and sizes.

Maybe these guys juice too, but at least they are not trading a small tight waistline for 24" arms

But they trade in their dignity and all morality to compete as naturals and as liars.
They tell themselves GH isnt a stroid, deca isnt testosterone, and on and on. I friend I used to obtain my gear from said he sold a lot of deca to a couple of high level natural BBers. On in particular is very much on a soap box about being natural, and he uses a very low dose of sustanon in tiny cycles.
The whole natural scene is a farce. The actual guys who are natural are not given a chance and never will be, the "magazine cover naturals" (unnaturals?) take all the spotlight...

I’m not sure where you get that from?….

fawnmarie said:...BTW - 12% *IS* in shape for a woman. Actually it's pretty lean. Normal, healthy bodyfat percentage for a non-competing "average" woman is about 18-24%, depending on age. The women that you seen running around that are NOT bodybuilders, but relatively lean and in shape are about 18-20%.
