According to the 2000 census there are 105 men for every 100 women for teh age group under 20. From 20-44 it drops to 98 men for every 100 women, that's a much higher male mortality rate than I had expected for that age group. Men are reckless...

They claim marriage lengthens the male's lifespand and shortens the females but i haven't seen the actual numbers on that...lol.

usually its the cardiovascular strain that tips the scales. look at studies of small mens lifespans vs large mens lifespans and youll see the same trend - the bigger an individual, the more likely that their cardiovascular system is going to shit itself later on and take em out

That makes sense. Sort of settles down the male, but perhaps increases female mortality b/c of risks associated with child bearing?

I don't know about facts and figures.... but I see a ton more men die than women. It's been like 5:1 or something. It's nuts.
