much to my father's (step father) chagrin, my mother (his first wife) had made friends with his current wife.

they have a lot in common, including having to put up with him. my stepfather is SOOO not pleased.

My ex's girlfriend used to call me all the time. She wanted to be my friend. It was weird. I stopped answering my phone. She doesnt call anymore.

I wouldn't do that. I purposely dated chicks outside my immediate area just so I don't have someone's leftovers that i knew, and the other way around.

and When I break up with someone, it's over. Just over. Period. The location thing helped with that too.

Two girls I am currently friends with where ex girlfriends of the guy I moved to DC for. One I knew before I knew him, the other after I moved here. It was inevitable since they were all still in the same circle of friends.

I had one ex....from NY...end up police partners with a cousin of the guy I dated after he and I broke up. I had previously worked with that cousin in Austin texas, though not closely. Just the same place of business. We barely crossed paths but apparently when it came up in conversation where he had previously worked, my ex put two and two together and asked if he knew me. Cousin had recently talked to my current bf and I had come up, so he put two and two together and did some fast thinking and said "No," thus saving all of us a LOT of weirdness (though he called me and my current at the time and told us).
