I buy brown sugar scrub from Trader Joe's for $5.99 here which is a good deal, but you can also make it yourself! Great as gifts

Need:
1 cup Turbinado Sugar (also known as Sugar in the Raw) -- I get it here -- 2lbs -- for $1.29 at a health food store [if you like a fine texture, use regular brown sugar; the Turbinado Sugar has a coarse texture]

1/4 cup oats (I like to pulse them in a food processor to give them a finer texture)

Essential Oils (~5-6 drops)

~ 4oz various oil (Grapeseed, Almond, Canola, Glycerin, etc or a combo of several)

Mix in a plastic container the sugar, oats & oils. Enjoy!

Scents or Mixtures:
Tangerine/Orange: Mix above ingredients with Tangerine & Orange Essential Oils

Chocolate-Mint: Add to above ingredients 2 tblsp cocoa powder & Peppermint Essential Oil

Helps keep your skin soft thru the winter!!

Honey and raw sugar is fantastic also...I would use it straight away and not store it though. Nice and organic...the way skin care should be!

Your recipes sound delicious Jen!

That sounds good too!! Although honey won't go "bad" but it may crystallize some.... Honey is the only "food" that never goes bad...

I love sugar scrubs -- they really help keep my feet/skin soft....

I think the honey may dissolve the raw sugar too quickly if you store it for later use. Not sure!

Honey is also a great healer...used to use it on my horses if they had a deep wound....stopped proud flesh from forming. Manuka Honey I think its called.

Well, the Turbinado sugar is very coarse.....so that may not be a bad thing....
