Maintenance training v. On cycle

Discreet User

New member
Do you train the same on cycle and off?

If not, what do you do differently?

I've just started my most recent cycle and am upping my training volume tremendously.
The thing is, I know that volume isn't sustainable off cycle...

I just try and maintain exactly what i am lifting on cycle. If i cant i just lower the weight until i can do it and lift as much as i can. Dont have on cycle and off cycle routines, thats a garbage way to train.

Keep a record of what you lift when on and try to maintain it and if not drop weight slowly until you can. You need to kill it every session, on or off cycle.

That's a pretty rash response.

It's vastly accepted that on cycle and off cycle training can differ.

Just the fact that you lower the weight is in itself a different "type" of training.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe my opening question was too broad.

I don't change my training because of a cycle on gear. I log everything. In fact, when coming off, as I'm watching the numbers, if the advances stop, I push as hard as I can to maintain said numbers. After that, gains are slow. When I change my routine, it's when I'm sure that I'm G2G.
