Maintaining sterility when rebottling?

What is the best way to transfer 50ml of sterile oil from a container with no stopper(squirt bottle) into one that does

Sterile syringe.

However, you need to be VERY careful when transferring, to prevent contamination of the oil... be obsessive about sterility.

Either that or just dump the oil (if the stopper is removable), then put the whole vial in boiling water for an hour or bake it in the oven at over 320F for about an hour to re-sterilize it.

Transfers like this always carry a high probability of contamination... good luck!

Thnaks Dr. M, bumo for some info, tips, HELP ME!!

How about buying a 50ml steril vial, removing the top, pouring the oil in, then resealing it? Is it hard to reseal a vial? What would I need?

Karma for all....

Why do you have to remove the top. Just buy a big needle and put a little needle next to it so pressure does not build up and inject the oil trough the stoper. The only way you can put a top back on is to buy a Hand Crimper and those are over a $100 dollars. It will take a little more time (it took me to 10 min. to put 50m in my vial) but make sure you have a small needle in the side next to the big neddle to let the pressure out of the vial so it will go through faster............TAPOUTM

the container Im taking it out of has no stopper so I cant draw all the liquid out with a syringe(squeeze bottle). Anyopne know where i can buy a REALLY big syringe?

Go to a vet supply store; they have large syringes.

OR, go to your local store for people who are in homecare - you'll be able to buy a large syringe there. Quite often they're used for feeding, and come as big as... well, big. I'd say probably a 60mL would do you, right?

Good luck!

I believe GPZ has those 60 ml. syringes...but they are a pain in the ass to draw up liquid with (even with an 18 ga. needle). Ask tapoutm, I had to help him do it about a month ago...:D

alright, you all get karma even though Im more confused about what to do now than I was before. Thanks for nothin!! :D

There's 50 ml of Testoviron at stake here people!! Whoever comes up with the most viable solution for me to accomplish my goal will be eligible to recieve a "token of appreciation" :)

The best way is the way we did it. Do what TERM said and go to GPZ and get the biggest syring and the biggest needle. The way we got it out was he held the bottle at a slant so that the needle could suck up the oil. We then got out the vials and trans. all of the oil into the vials. I think this is the best way because it is not exposed to the air as much. Less likely to get a infection. But make sure you put a little pin in the top so that when you start to fill up the vial the pressure will be released and it will go alot faster........TAPOUTM:evilking:

Yep, this is what I would recommend. It will give you less chance to contaminate, but it is a rather slow process (even with 2 guys :o )
