Mail order question

Thats called mail fraud and will just add charges to you if you get busted. Definately a bad idea. Just use your real name.

Here's a thought. Say your name is "Darren."

Have it sent to "Darrin". The postal people will still think its ur package and its only a slight spelling mistake. If you get busted, you can try and plead that it's not your package, the name isn't even yours. :)

Damn, thats good. Imma keep this in mind.::angel:

Using a fake name will add conspiracy to the list of charges if you were busted. Mispelling your name is complete nonsense, the courts are not idiots and anyone who believes that this would be a viable defense has a lot to learn.

Sup copper:rolleyes:

using a PO Box is smart. if your gonna play this game, getting busted is just apart of the risk. your main concern should be keeping them out of your house and away from ppl that live there. remember that cop in tenn that shot that dog? they do that in house raids all the fucking time.

It would probably be better to use a name that was similar like Derrik instead of Darren.

True. Post this question on the "Bodybuilding and the Law" forum. Actual lawyers that know what they're talking about will reply. Citricide, Rick Collins, and others answer questions regularly there.

yep, a better place to post this question

Would it be a good idea to use a fake name when having stuff sent to your PO box?

Are you asking whether it would be a bad idea to set up PO box in a fake name or using a fake name to receive a package?

If you use a fake name and someone brings the package to your door, how do you get busted if you refuse the package as a result of the name not being yours. Now once you have the package and they bust you thats a different story. I still like the fake name to leave an out for face to face deliveries.

I would probably be a little weary about using a different spelling of the name. You want to draw as little attention to the package as possible. If the name matches to your PO Box or mailing address, usually it will get pushed right through at the post office. If the name is slightly off it may come through on the day some anal-retentive postal worker is working and pass it to a postal inspector. Especially if its from overseas.

I'm with rrwwdd, I don't like using my name. how can they charge you with anything if you refuse delivery because it's not your name? and if you did accept it and there are a bunch of feds waiting in the bushes out in front of your trailer, then you were probably in trouble all ready and if they really want to, they'll track everything in and out of your place and listen to your phone calls, etc. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy that would only order enough for a cycle or two for himself and would never distribute in any way shape or form.
just my 2 cents

United States Code - -

Whoever, for the purpose of conducting, promoting, or carrying on by means of the Postal Service, any scheme or device mentioned in section 1341 of this title or any other unlawful business, uses or assumes, or requests to be addressed by, any fictitious, false, or assumed title, name, or address or name other than his own proper name, or takes or receives from any post office or authorized depository of mail matter, any letter, postal card, package, or other mail matter addressed to any such fictitious, false, or assumed title, name, or address, or name other than his own proper name, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than
five years, or both.

If some postal inspector or federal agency wanted to be a dick, you could spend a hell of a lot longer in jail for mail fraud then you could for simple possession for AS.
