for the record my diet is clean but i eat in excess..i have 1 or 2 cheat meals per week..i eat mainly chicken steak turkey tuna oats rice whole wheat bread pro shakes..

it boils down to goals..mine are different..you dont need visible abs to have a 2k total..and i have no aspirations of competing in a bb'ing comp so why diet now..
everyone is different which is what isaid in my very first post..

if your goal is to be the most ripped regardless of your muscularity fine im not critisizing that..but dont critisize me if having abs is not my goal..

if we learned anything from this i think we need a poll what is easier to obtain: a six pack abs or "above" average muscularity..this seems to be the driving wedge with this debate

If you are happy with your size, fine, but that doesnt mean you should be trying to piss on guys with mass goals different than yours. For what its worth, I have pics posted on here where I was natural, and just as lean but bigger than you, so I dont find your physique that impressive, but you wont hear me trashing it on the boards because I am way bigger than you
and the comment about whats the point of bulking when you look too shitty to take your shirt off, thats crap. I bulk to about 13% every year, but have never been shy about taking my shirt off, and even at that % I never seem to have problems turning heads

As far as squating, I could lie just like everyone else does about their BF levels. The truth is I had a motorccyle accident when I was 17 & broke my foot, tibia fibia, etc. As a result I do not have full range of movement in my ankle. And yes I can submit verified pics as proof if needed. lol

NJRipped: nice abs but you need to lift heavy and put on some size. As "Bubba" Colman once said, "Everybody wants to be a bodybuilding but nobody wants to lift no heavy weights."

I slipped a disk in my back in high school, and broke my ankle sparing when I was 18, and still have enough scar tissue in it to the jion protrodes on the lateral side of it a good inch farther out than my other ankle... so I found this amusing also, since I've done deep squats with 505 on myworking sets, and have done hack squats to parrellel with 22 plates. Nice point orb. Its a lame excuse.

But NJRipped, fyi, out of my real close circle of bros, 12 of the 14 of us have six packs and have had them for years. I am one of the two that doesn't have a totally ripped mid-section. Why is this, because me and the other guy want to put on mass. The other 12 just want to look good with their shirts off. Most of them eat like shit, drink like fish, and smoke their asses off and never hit the gym.

Sweet fuckin Jeezuzz! 6 pages of Mac and Cheese which turned into a flamefest! lmfoa! Wow .. i thought taht this was actually going to be 6 pages of mac and cheese talk.

NJ, one line of yours I find the most redundant, and that I here more and more people say all the time... is ... "I dont care about strength", or I just want to get big etc... I am a bodybuilder .. dont care about strength. The thing is that you will NEVER really grow until you get stronger. They are so closely related, strength and growth. If you dont try to get stronger ... you will never grow your muscles. But apparently as you have stated, you dont want to grow your muscles or even get stronger. And thats fine. Regular exercise, dieting, and hitting the stairclimber should keep you where you are for years to come. However to most of us, this is unchallenging. Do you really want to be lifting the same amount of weight for years to come just to maintain your physique?

Some of us just want to be "fit", while others like to keep constantly progressing forward building more and more muscle, and constantly challenging ourselves. THis is done by getting stronger. Progressively overlaoding your weight, and periodizing your training. The best way to do this is to constantly move more weight in heavy lifts like squats, bench, deads etc, eat lots, and use the right drugs. I personally am always aiming to set new records on all my lifts, and continue to progress forward. My girlfriend on the other hand trains more with the same theory as you do. She dosent care to get stronger. She dosent care to build muscle, she wants to be "fit" and thats it. And she does look .. reallllly hot! She has better abs than I do, and she is really fit. But we train much differntly. She is almost a vegetarian, and lifts very light weights all the time, uses machines and the stairmaster. What it comes down to is different strokes for different folks. Because you don't want to build muscle or get stronger, only maintain your abs year round, dosent mean that you should knock want2bbeast for wanting to grow and get stronger. And likewise if you are happy where you are, people shouldnt be giving you a hard time if you just want to diet and stairmaster and move the same amount of weight each workout to maintain your look.

Its pretty rare that someone is completely satisfied with their physique, when there are so many great physiques out there. I think that almost eveyone wants to add more muscle. But not everyone (like you obviously). It all comes down to different strokes for different folks, so I say lets drop the flaming... as amusing as it is.
 
Yeah well IMHO I think everyone should lay off of "lab boy" a.k.a. needsize. The guy has helped more folks on this board than can be counted (and off too if I recall his profession). The guy came in second in his FIRST contest (and should have been first by the pics!). He doesn't shit on anyone unless it's solicited in the first place. And then some no-brain-weenies crap on his opinion! Nice, is that what the guy gets for helping people above and beyond the call of duty on this board?

So the guy eats M&C and you don't agree with it, whoopie shit! Show the guy some respect anyway, he's earned it again and again. Personally, based on all the other sage advice the guy has, I'd give M&C a try anyway.

My fiance trains her ass off daily too, and again, does not care about getting stronger. TIs why she does daily cardio, plays tennnis, and uses the same amt. of weights everytime she's in there....she spices shit up by switching bodypart pairings, different exerecises, and ways to decrease her rear-end size (Trust me fellas, she wears a size zero, is in peak condition, but claims her butt is big.....strange) Anyways, my point is and always has been too each his own. You're going to find the majority around here want to be bigger and badder........

Truth is we are all born with a 6-pack................we aren't born with 400lb benches....

I couldnt fathom not wanting to progress forward either. It just gives you something to strive towards. Goals to overide, and a way to continually give yourself a sense of achievement and accomplishment.

Let me say this: anyone can say anything on the internet - doesn't make it true. That's the reason I always say post some pics. I don't need to lie about myself or my goals and that's the reason I'm able to prove everything I say - including the fact that there is a 2" difference between the circum of my left and right thigh/calf. Do you think that's the result of not training properly? lol

I don't mind continuing to post on this thread but you're going to have to slow it down a little - I do have a day job. ;)

I wasn't referring to the genetically gifted comments. I was referring to the earlier comments by some folks. As he mentioned some were/are bordering on personal attacks.

He's right, that is how I feel. Just as you wouldn't want my build (unless maybe you weren't able to eat for a year - lol), I would never choose to have yours. Let me use cars as an analogy. I would never drive a Dodge Viper although most on this board would choose that in a second over my 911.

I follow Mies van der Rohe's "Less is more" theory. I don't like excess for the sake of excess. The minimalistic approach is my preference. :)

why dont we do this..since i think you were extremely offended when i said it was fairly easy to obtain your physique..lets ask someone with way more experience than the both of us..NS has gone to xtreme low bf and has gone through bulking phases as well..

NS is it harder to get to your contest shape or do you find it harder to build muscle? also depending on the size one wants to obtain it obviously takes longer to gain?

My point is that I could gain muscle mass - and probably make great gains with my diet. I'm sure I could gain at least 25lbs of muscle mass. You're not reading the posts. First of all I didn't say "Why the hell would anyone want to look like needsize." Actually, no one made this statement. If they did then I could see why you might be insulted.

What was actually said by another member was "Why would he want to have the build of needsize or galaxy?????" By "he," I believe the member meant "why would NJRipped want to look like needsize." He was correct in his assumption.

Even if you did make the below statement about me, it wouldn't offend me. Some people are very closed minded and this is what I would assume. Have to go to work now. :)

wow my thread about fucking macaroni and cheese turned into a shit fest. first off

needsize- started out average build a few years ago, he is not geneticly gifted. he IS A HARD WORKING DEDICATED MOTHER FUCKER. you new guys who came to the boards within thelast couple years know DICK about needsize and how he has COME UP , if you wanna go toe to toe with needsize i suggest you take up another hobby cause i really dont see anyone touching needsize's, build,character,integrety.

njripped-even though i dont care for the kid i think you guys are bashinf him silly for no reason, i agree its the fat thick strong dudes who always insult the lean guys. so your 20%+ body fat that can sqaut 1000 pounds 10 times WHO GIVES A SHIT!!?? georgie i dont squat 1g i wish but ive never said that..it takes avery elite individual to reach that goal..only a very few will ever..the same can be said for those that have abs "who gives a shit"..

your right this thread got out of hand..if you look at my first post on page 4 i made some comments but to be honest they were generalizations and they werent a direct criticism..i was merely pointing out 2 extremes those that only care to be ripped and those that are adding lean muscle only to be a bigger ripped person later on..

everyone should care about how much theyre lifting because if it aint going up guess what you aint growing..but this isnt about training..

I can honestly say if he had said from the beginning i do not wish to add any size to my frame this would not have gone on as long as it did..I cant fault anyone for not wanting to get bigger..i respect what one feels teir ideal physique should be..hes reached his goal and thats great..Im still working on mine so why you want to shit on me because im a work in progress..never once did i claim i looked better than you or that im stronger than you i dont think ive ever said that on this board period..

I get much more satisfaction when i can help someone in the gym with a lift or if someone ask me wh am i doing that whats it for..i got a pm from someone i barely remeber helping telling me how he added 30 lbs to his bench and its still going up..to me thats what these boards should be about..why sit here and trash someone either way and then demand they put up pics..What does that really prove..I hate to mention names but i remeber when someone posted their pic and it was totally not what we expected however that person was very knowledgeable about AAS use and such..everytone ripped on him..why all of a sudden he wasnt smart anymore? I really dont get this whole pic thing..if you think what i say is bullshit thats fine dont take any advice from me...

My point is that I could gain muscle mass - and probably make great gains with my diet. I'm sure I could gain at least 25lbs of muscle mass. Well, why don't I then - because I don't want it and don't find it to be aesthetically pleasing.

I used to eat this all the time to bulk. Helped alot with the extra calories and carbs, especially when I was going for 600-800 carbs a day and sometimes 6000 calories. Protein isnt the highest by itself, around 40 grams, but its easy enough to throw a can of tuna in it. I also liked the flavored cream of wheat when I was doing my old bulking diet. Easy carbs. Id highly reccomend macaroni and cheese also. Just bought a big box myself at the warehouse.

Best thing for a bulk............2 THICK ANPB and Jelly sandwhiches on 100% whole wheat (cold) and a 24oz glass of milk about 11pm at night............
 
Honeslty, I'm thinking the best way to add some bulk is to eat in the middle of the night............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............like 2 minutes before bed........

I usually get atleast 64oz of milk a day, and as Im drinking that Ill make 2-3 peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches with 4 tablespoons of peanut butter in each sandwhich for 44-66 grams of protein. Ill either drink some of the milk with that or some gatorade, since Ill drink 1/2 gallon of that on some days also. The peanut butter is usually skippy or another brand, and the bread is white. haha Ill get the natural peanut butter on occasion. But I usually eat that right out of the container. Like the chunky peanut butter on sandwhiches.

Hahah.....and if your extremely consistent and that menu doesnt turn you into a complete lard ass, your metabilism is either through the roof or you are on some serious GH.............


On a serious note, cut your flippin workouts to 1/5 hours MAX...........this 3 and 4 hour shit has got to go.....that's why you arent making any gains bro..........

:FRlol: :FRlol: No gains brother?! haha Ive been making my best gains in years. Ive put on 3/4 of an inch on the arms in the last 6-8 months,some more size on the chest, and legs are up another inch also. Im always trying to improve what I can though. The last 4 years before this, I was gaining 1/4 inch on the arms per year. VERY slow gains. My arms didnt want to grow much past 17" haha, or even 16". They just hit 18.5" a few days ago. Strength is increasing nicely as well. Just cant deadlift. By may, which is a full year for me, I expect to have charted some nice gains this year. So Im satisfied with this progress. Ive tried the shorter sessions brother. Became more like a cardio session with weights to failure, but still not as heavy as I like to train. I like to rest longer and get in the extra reps. Seems to work best for me. Metabolism is still pretty fast. Not as fast as it once was though. I can still drop 5lbs a day by not eating enough. ThanX for the feedback!

No...........I think we said it 100% depends on your goals, genetic structure, etc...........some can eat it and not gain a pound, others will look at it and get fat.....if you want to stay lean, 90% of people should stay away.......if you don't care about packing on some pounds, enjoy. Pretty simple.
