Lump - 6 weeks later!!!

I know there are a thousand threads about lumps at the injection site but I couldn't find anything about my particular situation. I have had lumps form in the week or so after an injection in the past, but it has now been about 6 weeks since my last one and I just noticed a pretty good size lump on my ass. It doesn't really hurt but I noticed this weekend that is was very slightly sore. No redness or anything like that. You can't tell that anything is wrong from looking at it. My guess is that if something serious was going to happen then it would have happened by now. Infection would have kicked in quicker and blood should have dispersed by now I would think. Is there juice that didn't get in far enough??? What do you guys think?

i dont know bro, but if there's even a slight chance it's an abscess i would go to the doc NOW the sooner the better, and maybe some antibiotics can save u before surgery is required, i'm not saying that's the case, but better safe than sorry.

i ve had lumps for years but then had them massaged out?
i have one left from a shot 6-12 weeks ago its about the size of a peanut i think I didnt go far enough is this common? im trying to masage IT out, now.

I would get some antibiotics and take them for a week. I had a similar problem and just got some antibiotics and after a week it was gone. Saved a trip to the doc and some money.

I've actually had an antibiotic shot from a nurse that left a lump in my glute for at leat 10 weeks. Never was sore. It felt like a marble deep under my skin. I got so used to it being there I forgot about it and a few months later I thought to check to see if it was there and it was gone. So i'm pretty sure it wasn't an infection since it was an antibiotic shot that I received.
If it doesn't hurt and their is no redness, I doubt it is infected.

This is an old post from January but to update everyone on what happened....I finally decided there is no reason to take any chances so I went to the doc....not my regular physician since I know him on a personal level and he would strongly object to my hobby.
The doc checked me out and said that it could be a blood clot or possibly (though very unlikely) scar tissue. He said when you inject through a vein it can form a small lump down in there and just takes time to dissipate. It finally did after 4-6 more weeks.
For those of you that ever fear infection he did tell me that there will be no question if it is infected. It will be red and may start to streak down your leg and it will usually start to hurt. I felt a lot better after talking to him although my BP was through the roof (148/111) when I was in there because I was so nervous about telling them!!!

Most doctors will not care if you use steroids... they are just happy you come to see them rather than waiting till you are on your death bed with a savage infection. although, they may warn you of the risks which we are all aware

Has anyone ever experienced a warm feeling on the lump ?

I am using QGL now and the last dose left a lump...but the lump is warm to the touch. No visible signs of redness or anything.
