That sucks. - Sorry to hear it.

I have only had 3 cats since I was 5 years old.

The first lived 23 years.

My current buddy is 17 years old.

God Bless you man...

have 4 cats of our own. love em!!

LOL! That was the cleverest thing knight69 has ever written. Sorry Corn, but that was such a dickhead remark I had to giggle.

Ahem...sorry about your cat dude, I lost mine not too long ago too and it sucks.

He was 9.

He had an upper respiratory infection that he was treated for a couple of times....it developed into a case where his chest had filled with infection and the vets souldn't get the fluid off in time...I had pulled him out of the local vet clinic and rushed him to UGA's speciality care and he went into cardiac arrest as I he was being carried back to be treated

ah man that had to be rough seeing him seize like that :( was he a pure bred or a dumpster cat? growing up, we had a couple of pure breds and they knocked off early, too, like around 7-8 years.

Not having any pets Corn, it's hard for me to visualize exactly how you are feeling... but I guess a loss is a loss... so, I'm sorry for your loss.

sorry about your loss, corn, animals can be like children in many ways.

just saw this thread, i'm sorry to hear about your cat....one of my cats is 9 years old and i can't imagine what my life would be like if she suddenly wasn't around :(

Sorry to hear that, babe. A few weeks ago we had to put our 13 year old lab down...one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

I'VE LOST MY CAT IN THE PAST SO I KNOW HOW IT FEELS. WHAT WAS YOUR CAT'S NAME?:(

Sorry Corn...
We just went through the same thing except it was our 15 yr old
family Dog 2 weeks ago..
We decided to put her down when she had 2 heart attacks and then has painfull seizures at the Vet.

Life goes on, we just got a 5 week old new puppy to help us get through Christmas..

sorry to here this

My fur bundle is curled up right next to at this time and in total
blissfull sleep. I feel for ya. But you should go right out and get another from the humane soc. Turn the grief into love for another poor stray and a wonderful life for it.

got a couple cats myself..my female got out when I got home form christmas and had left the door ajar while unloading gifts..I couldn't find her so I cracked the garage door a foot..she was in there when I awoke...and she was ready to come in form the cold after her little safari...funny thing as a mortician I'm around death all the time, but when my parents had to put down a poodle of 17 years it really affected me..I guess because we know that death eventually awaits us its easier to accept when a human dies..but the animals have no concept of it..even as their health deteriorates, for all they know they could wake up tommorow and be normal again..as I imagine they don't understand or know about aging either..its also nice to see that there are a few BBs that have cats..I've always liked cats as they are more natural predators and their blood line has some of the most graceful animals(tigers,lions,jaguars,etc.)..you can see a little of this genetic tree even in a domesticated house cat

better thanks....no replacePET yet....still have a rott and a jack russell running around.

I'll never own another cat though

here is a great story for you, that may cheer you up:

a couple of months ago my 9-year-old sister took our little pudel outside in the yard, so that it could run around in the sun. All of a sudden a huge black rotveller jumped out of nowhere and bit our little puppy in halves. Needless to say that was kinda hard on my sis. Shit, I wish I was there back then. I tried to find the owner of that dog later, but with no luck... would have beaten the shit out of him. Or her.
