Ok, here's the scenario:
Injecting into shoulders using 1" pins for at least a couple months now. Rotating sites, so at most each shoulder gets hit once every four days. Never any problems of any kind...until recently.
Recently there has been bruising (small bruises that go away within a couple days), hard knots at injection sites, practically unstoppable bleeding, and finally (and most disturbing) losing gear from the site after injection!!!
Once the injection is completed and the pin is pulled out, oil immediately begins flowing back out of the injection site. Usually pressure has been applied using an alcohol soaked cotton ball, and the site has been massaged in attempts to keep as much oil in as possible. The last time, no pressure was applied...and an estimated 1/4cc was lost.
Has anyone ever experienced this specifically?
What have you been able to do to rectify it?
Should a longer pin be used?
Is there a possible build up of oil at the site?
Anyone that can offer input please reply. Thank you.
